Best half-year result in SEN’s history

Sports Entertainment Group (SEG, but better known as SEN – Sports Entertainment Network) has delivered the strongest half‑year result in its history as it continues to grow across audio, digital, TV production and events.

Audio and digital recorded 11% revenue growth for the half. Live sport played a significant role across the AFL and NRL finals, AFL Trade Radio and the Ashes.

A 94% increase in EBITDA, reaching $9.7 million for the half year to 31 December, 2025 then allowed the company to return a significant fully‑franked dividend to shareholders. SEN will pay a total of 4 cents per share; a 1 cent interim dividend and a 3 cent special dividend linked to the Perth Wildcats sale, returning $11.2 million in fully‑franked capital to shareholders.

An interesting snippet here:

Long‑term strategic opportunities across [2026] included upgrades across SEG’s racing vertical through the integration of RSN, expanded regional programming in Victoria and Western Australia, and new TV programming such as Agenda Setters and Unfiltered and a new 4K production truck to support live sport coverage.

Not sure what a 4K truck helps with radio where you couldn’t see anything, but okay.

Would it have something to do with their TV production arm?

Also, it has to be said, screw Hutchy.

Yes. Exactly that. I’m not sure what @News727 means.

SEG/Rainmaker must be close to announcing that they have successfully secured the tender to produce content for AFL Media and afl.com.au, which would explain their investment in 4K production capabilities, as the contract would involve taking over the production rights for the VFL.

Seven announced this morning that SENQ breakfast host Corey Parker would be at the helm of the NRL version of The Agenda Setters. As The Agenda Setters will probably be filmed in Sydney, how and from where will Corey do the SENQ breakfast show on Tuesday mornings?

Wasn’t there a new program rumoured to be coming from Brisbane? It could be there

Why the * after Cruise1323 Adelaide?

Noting that Cruise is ARN owned station and carries syndicated programs.

“*ARN – Cruise 1323am in Adelaide”

Why does Cruise take it?
Doesn’t FiveAA have radio rights in Adelaide for the AFL?
I also wonder if that’s why they don’t want to flip Cruise to Gold, the syndicated SEN sport content
