Dragons’ charity tour came to an abrupt end this week. Probably for the best of their remaining fans.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Hallelujah. The Dragons beat another team that isn’t the bye. Finally.

The Dragons have an inexplicably good record in Brisbane. I guess every team has their bogey.

(For the Dragons, it’s historically been my other team, the Raiders).

This is now the third straight time in which the Dragons have beaten the Broncos by 30-26, all of which have come at Suncorp.

They’ve also now won nine out of their last eleven against them dating back to 2018.

That was an interesting Broncos loss to listen to on ABC Radio. The game ended right as I drove in to Kogarah on the A1. :smiling_face_with_tear:

I hope you don’t drive into Kogarah after listening to that.

Also, what the hell Broncos? You’re supposed to beat the Dragons, not lose to them.

I was tempted to detour to Jubilee Oval and just scream outside the gates in my Broncos jersey. :joy:

Raiders defeated Cowboys with six tries to two.

Warriors trailed Panthers 16-6 at half time in Parramatta, before scoring two tries to hit the front. But Paul Alamonti’s second try of the night put Panthers back in front, and the home side won the top of the table clash 20-18.

Kieran Foran has officially re-signed as Manly head coach on a long-term deal.

His new contract will see the club great remain at Manly until the end of 2029.

Talk of expanding competition

This masthead can reveal V’landys and ARLC powerbrokers will soon travel to New Zealand to ramp-up due diligence for a possible second NRL franchise across the ditch to complement the Warriors.

The 20th licence shapes as a battle between New Zealand and a fifth NRL team in Queensland.

Aside from three Christchurch bids, there is talk of a potential second club in Auckland, while the Ipswich Jets have formed a powerful $80 million consortium in Brisbane’s western-corridor.

"Relating to erroneous comments made on a podcast and the recent social media chatter which has followed, and due to the concern shown by members, fans and corporate partners, we felt it necessary to address a statement made on a rugby league podcast yesterday on the future of games at Ocean Protect Stadium.

The comments, which have since gained traction on social media channels and on chat groups, suggested the NRL is considering moving games away from Ocean Protect Stadium, beginning next season.

While we already knew this to be incorrect, further enquiries made to the NRL earlier this morning confirmed there is no substance or truth in this commentary.

It was disappointing that these baseless comments have caused concern to our partners, members and fans who enjoy the game day experience at Ocean Protect Stadium.

We do concede upgrades are certainly necessary moving forward and we continue to work with the NRL and government in an effort to secure the necessary funding to make this happen."

Protect games at Ocean Protect Stadium!

Up Up Cronulla!!

(but seriously, not a great ground facilities wise).

No. Merge with the Dragons, get Bruce out and move to Wollongong. Get someone to scrub that name off the stadium and admin centre.

I knew that the initial reports of Cronulla leaving Shark Park at the end of this season was nonsense. All the money spent on the ground in recent years (as crap of a ground it still is), and the money spent on the Leagues Club next door too meaning the sharks aren’t going anywhere. Yet.

For a start, there are hundreds of empty seats on the top tier of the grandstand which are not in use.

I think that’s because of the leagues club renovations which are going on immediately behind that top tier.

Which has been closed since 2019! But meant to be re-opening later this year.

I’d still merge them with the Dragons and shift them to Wollongong with non-WIN ownership involved.

Call them the Southern Somethingorothers.

And your Knights can merge with Manly and play at Gosford and call themselves the Newmanly Knighted Eagles :face_with_tongue:

Never happening. We’ve got the best fans in the league. Manly just suck.
