Harry Grant and Julia Robinson are the men’s and women’s winners of this year’s Golden Boot Award.
I highly doubt he sees out the contract to 2030. I also question if they would have given an extension of that length had they not had the dramas of the last few weeks.

The NRL today announced it had fined the Roosters $36,070 because the club overspent on their supplementary list and training wage - tipping them over the salary cap by $38,356 for the 2024 season.
The Melbourne Storm also received a fine of $25,000 due to errors in their processes around team selections on at least two occasions in the 2025 season.
At least you don’t get the battering that us Rooster Fans get copped with. 2019 Grand Final reminders anyone?

Kick-off decision, extended squads: NRL proposes four rule changes for 2026 season
The NRL will implement a raft of rule changes ahead of the upcoming season, which will also include extending matchday squads and six-again penalties. See Andrew Abdo’s email to NRL clubs.
The non-scoring team will now have the option to kick-off or receive the ball to restart play. As it stands, the team which concedes a try or goal restarts play by kicking off.
Coaches will now be able to carry benches of six players but will still be only able to play four per game.
If an attacking player drops the ball in the act of attempting to score a try over the tryline they will not be penalised by a seven tackle set.
Set restarts instead of penalties will be awarded from outside the 20-metre line of the attacking team.
The only rule change I like is not awarding a 7 tackle restart if you drop the ball over the line.
Not a fan of more 6 agains or for the non scoring team to get to make a decision on kick offs.
England head coach Shaun Wane has left the role after almost six years in charge, the Rugby Football League (RFL) said on Wednesday, and the search is on for a replacement nine months before the Rugby League World Cup

Whoopdey do. The fine is probably just the change in the ashtray of Uncle Nick’s car.
McDonald’s has joined Budget Direct and Cash Converters as major partners of the Perth Bears.
Apparently Phil Rothfield has announced his retirement. Best news I’ve heard so far this year.
Him being a Sharkies supporter was the only real thing I liked about him.
Yeah always had a reputation for talking out of both sides of his mouth.
Really? What are they going to do with that trademark? We know they’re a South supporter as soon as you see the gear. They go anywhere. That sells the club themselves.
I saw screw the Random Souths Guy meme, let’s replace it with Random Knights Guy. Souths fans breed like rabbits (ironic I know, that’s the joke), need to take the human version of myxomatosis into their community. ![]()
A change to the kick-off rule had been proposed following a score, where the non-scoring team would have the option of either kicking or receiving the restart.
A statement from the ARLC announced four rule changes for the 2026 season:
Trainer rules — Trainers will be restricted from entering the field of play to prescribed and clearly defined circumstances. This will ensure player safety remains the priority while reducing unnecessary intrusions by trainers carrying messages.
Interchange rules — Teams may interchange four players, up to eight times per match, from a squad of six players (players 14 to 19 inclusive).
Accidental breach (zero tackle) in-goal — There will be no seven-tackle set following a knock-on in-goal by the attacking team.
Restarting the tackle count — For certain infringements beyond the 20-metre line, the tackle count will restart, replacing the current 40m threshold.
