WOW, ARLC dropping massive hints … if digital media is nearing $1 billion valuation then who ever ends up with the broadcast rights will need to be around the $2.5 billion to $2.8 billion range.

I can’t see the NRL getting a collective $3.5- $4 billion for the next rights deal.

Any increase in digital rights will probably come at the expense of free to air / pay TV.

Well that’s a surprise!

RTS? I always thought James Tedesco would win the men’s award this year.

Award is generally based on international games, Australia at a disadvantage playing basically twice this year compared to everyone else. It’s also why the English player won it a few years ago, and nobody had heard of him in this country.

That doesn’t surprise me… he’s been hinting at that all year pretty much.

The Storm probably need him for another year to help transition the team to new leadership.

Certainly don’t have the leadership strength without him. They’re pushing Cam Munster for that role but he definitely needs another season or two to show his stripes

NRL players make AFL players look like geniuses by comparison. Who brings a knife to church?

Kangaroos coach Mal Meninga has tabled a proposal to the NRL competition committee extending each game to 90 minutes, divided into three 30-minute periods.

The Australian broadcaster for the tournament has not been decided, but I reckon Nine and Fox League are desperate to get the rights to this one, after Seven broadcast the 2013 and 2017 editions with great success.

With the Nines in Perth this Weekend, talk of Perth’s own Team is on the agenda if Todd Greenberg can consider expanding the Competition by 2 Sides or Relocating One of the Weaker Sydney Based Clubs (Mainly Cronulla) to make the game more Viable.

I highly doubt the NRL would be brave/stupid enough to relocate the favourite teams of the current NSW Premier and Prime Minister anytime soon.
