Yeah, of course, 100% but in these two cases my grandfather never lived in Melbourne and my cousin has never lived in Perth.

True, there are always exceptions to the rule. 
By and large though, it remains to be seen how many fans of other NRL teams will change their support to this new one. Did that many rugby league fans on the Gold Coast switch from the Broncos to the Titans in 2007?

Excellent question. I’d like to know too.
There wasn’t a team on the GC before the Titans so they naturally had a fan base waiting in the wings but the Dolphins have the Broncos fans to fight for in Brisbane.
A massive LOL at 4BC’s Drive show today asking listeners to call in and help name The Dolphins.

I wouldnt be surprised if we dont see an announcement soon - the 2023 “free agents” enter the market soon and I’d imagine the club will want to make a song and dance about their signings

Sure. But for the past couple it’s simply been “Warriors”
I wasn’t aware of that, but I wonder if that was temporary because they haven’t been able to play in New Zealand.

Once the name Dolphins was used, it ensured that everyone will call them the Redcliffe Dolphins no matter what the official name is.
