Rugby League World Cup 2017

Regarding the ratings, what Seven will be thrilled by is last nights win means Australia’s path to get to the final is now easier because (assuming the group standings go as expected) they won’t have to potentially face NZ in a semifinal

That means not only will they continue to get impressive numbers for Australia’s remaining two group games but they could get some big numbers for the QF, SF and potentially the final (especially if they’re UP against NZ)

It was just good to have a fresh voice. I thought Dan Ginnane would have done the big games considering he was in the promo shots as well.

The ratings are reflective of the exclusivity. This is why the simulcast deals are shithouse.

I wouldn’t say “shithouse”.

Yes, means better ratings for the network, but means people don’t have the option of free or ad-free coverage.

As a viewer, I prefer choice over exclusivity.

Wonder how the 7mate matches will perform?

Probably not great but not bad?

100-200k would be fantastic, as its 5 city.

As as been stated before. No radio coverage so I’m wondering if Sportsears can be used. I ask cause I’m going to at least one match. (The Final) and thinking about going to Australia v Lebanon.

Still filthy that there’s no matches in Newcastle

The point about Braybrook is he commentated at Rio 2016 Olympics. Ray Warren - given that hes 74 years of age and he gets very confused with many foreign players especially against Pacific nations. It’s about time he stops calling RLWC.

Download the 7Live app to your smartphone so at the match you open the app and listen to the TV commentary (if you can tolerate the delay).

So far better than that. I think 7 will be very happy.

Yes, just saw, huge share for 7mate.

Seven execs must be celebrating :dancer::man_dancing:

I’m pretty sure Dan Ginnane is calling the Italy V Ireland game alone. Surely they could have gotten someone to do expert commentary for it.

Also, it is so bloody refreshing seeing Rugby League on a different channel!

oops… I was wrong. Andrew Ryan with Dan Ginnane and Ryan Girdler on sideline. So bloody good! Would LOVE ch7 to get the NRL rights!

Mix of ABC and MMM on Seven?

No Gus Gould and No Ray Hadley commentating. A breath of fresh air. Andrew Ryan, Ryan Girder and Dan Ginnane are doing a wonderful job.

Who did the PNG and NZ games for Seven?

After the first weekend, Seven’s coverage it being hailed a success, some media such as AdNews ran stories.

Over 1m (metro) for one of its programs, making the week’s Top 10!

Along with (and depending) on Seven’s other programming, RLWC could be the deciding factor on who wins each week and indeed the year’s main channel.

Watch this space.

PS: I’m a big Jim Wilson fan, I know some aren’t.

hailed a success but basically every game was in SD…which was a joke.

NZ was done by the Sky callers
Glen Larmer and the team over there, I think Ken Laben is doing Samoa and Tonga.

I’ve never been a big fan of the Sky NZ crew. Too much bias towards Warriors.
