Regional Affiliation Swap 2021

My mistake, I used the total households figure on the RegionalTAM universe estimate instead of the total individuals figure. Fixed now.

It’s funny to look at that graphic and realise that the only use of the WIN branding to remain will be on SNOW.
It will be “Sky News on WIN” on Nine, because WIN won’t really exist as a channel anymore.

Why would 10 intentionally hold back a press release regarding the availability of their programs?

@KevinPerry Any word if they’ll keep the WIN brand on air in NNSW? Or it will be replaced with network 10 branding?

This seems to suggest it will be just “10” - his quote doesn’t mention “WIN” once

Andrew Lancaster, Chief Executive Officer of WIN, said:

“The continuation of Network 10 content on our channels in Northern NSW is a great win for our viewers who enjoy channels 10, 10 Bold and 10 Peach. We look forward to working with 10 over the next five years to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes

So no Shake in the biggest regional aggregated market - shows WIN truly doesn’t give two shits.

If there was money to be made they’d run it

Different markets, different economics

NBN/Nine dominates NNSW.
Prime/7 also very strong with local news and 7 programming

NNSW is by far 10’s weakest market nationwide if you look at the ratings

And 10Shake pulls very low numbers

Not to mention WIN and 10 are now only teamed up for one market

All those things together probably don’t make it financially viable to launch the lowest rated multi from the lowest rated network into the lowest rated market

7 posts were split to a new topic: Ten (WIN)

People in Darwin must be glad they don’t have to put up with the uncertainty of affiliation deals every few years because they have an O&O station.

Just on Darwin. With Nine News Local winding up and given that Darwin was initially brought into the regional news structure that will now no longer exist, could there be a case for Nine Darwin to move news production back to the Territory?

It’s a nothing channel anyway, no one sane will miss it.

exactly. The talk about 10Shake around here is disproportionate to how much anyone actually watches it.
