Random TV History

Well TNT-9 did have the dotty logo for a few years.

I don’t think anyone has posted this but the Legends Game from last week (in states broadcasting the game LIVE i.e NSW/VIC/QLD/ACT/TAS) opened with this blast from the past.

I could spend hours trawling through the old ABCB and ABT reports…

Partial recording from Seven in Western Australia during the evening of January 1 of 2000 (First day of the First versions of the Current emblems). As you can see in the first 18 seconds of this vid, you will notice the outro for Seven Nightly News Western Australia that Still features the previous circle emblem last used the day before. Having seen the Intro for that evening for the Victoria bulletin, I know the previous emblem was still being used so I’ll assume that the same thing occurred in Western Australia and I know that both NRL States had the new logo on the Intros.

A lot of the shows in that promo wouldn’t make it to the end of the year.

There’s something going wrong around here…

Tens incarnation of The Price Is Right was the right program scheduled at the wrong time/s.

I saw no less than 5 game show in that ad:-

  • Price is Right
  • Family Double Dare
  • The Great TV Game Show
  • SuperQuiz
  • Perfect Match

What was Gerry Sont hosting (0:30)? Was it the kids’ version of Double Dare or was he doing another show as well?

I think it was just random shots of the Ten on-air personalities doing interpretative dancing to that song.

Wasn’t that the The Comedy Company or Full Frontal applying the Ten promo to all the corruptionb in Queensland?

Obviously but it’s a bit confusing because there are Ten personalities mixed in with “actors” playing the random family.

I recognise Gerry Sont from Waterloo Station and Melvin, Son of Alvin. I just didn’t remember him hosting a show but looked him up in IMDb and saw he hosted Double Dare. I wasn’t watching kids shows any more by that stage so don’t remember that. I only remember Larry Emdur hosting the ill-fated Family Double Dare at night.

I feel like this inspired the Frontline parody “One Big Family”.

It was The Comedy Company, but they did it as ‘There’s nothing going on around here’.

I think it was more Nine and Seven’s:

Thar’s the one.

I thought Perfect Match had been axed before that promo. I remember Capital screening Lost in Space, The Munsters and Charles In Charge around that stage.

The Great Tv Game Show with Richard Stubbs was terrible.
