Random Radio

4BH are ‘recycling’ the same songs every few days :-1:I’ve noticed since I’ve been listening to them more often, when I’m working in the RSPCA laundry room I listen to them there.Since most of the other volunteers working in there are 60 or more,no one this age wants to listen to any of the main FM stations ,I’m not sure if the radio in there can pick up The Breeze, maybe no one has tried them or knows about them.

LAPs are essentially legisation, the previous govt tried and failed to delegate responsibility to ACMA rather than having to edit legisation everytime a LAP is updated. I agree LAPs are outdated, but commercial radio likes them as they maintain the status quo.

I do get a little frustrated that in regional and remote communities where available spectrum is available, there is no easy method to get new radio services licenced without having a lap updated, ive said it before but i like the NZ and USA allocation systems for radio, much more transparent and straight forward than the system we have in Australia.

This was the Sydney radio dial used on Nine News last night - the driver was tuned in to 2GB to hear the interest rate decision.

Surprised they didn’t use the DAB version so that the 2GB station name appeared on the radio screen.

As not everyone will know 873 is 2GB.

Doubt they thought that much about it tbh, and it probably was used nationwide.

Yeah probably not…

This where they need a Media Spy consultancy service!

1017AM… and no mention of 1269AM?

An interesting list of presets there.

I’d say that car has never used AM before.

Why do you say that? All the other presets are Sydney AM stations.

Off topic, I have just noticed that 91.9 seafm Sunny Coast plays most of their music in a higher pitch than other stations eg. B105. Is there any reason why they could be doing that?

I have the same car radio… no DAB

Me too, just AM and FM, Same radio is used throughout most modern toyota vehicles.

That surprised me, that looked to be a fairly late model (2018 or thereabout) Toyota Kluger. As I was in a Kluger taxi earlier this week that had the same dashboard.

It surprised me too when I bought my Toyota, I thought DAB would be a standard, but it was not.

Eeek… Toyota need to lift their game. Even VW has finally included DAB+

Can’t say I’m surprised though, Toyota are always pretty stingy with standard equipment.

tbf i bought mine in 2019 but it was a 2015 model but I would have thought even by 2015 it might have had DAB on it.

Yeah, my 2015 Ford Focus had DAB+ but it was the mid-range model. The base model didn’t have it at the time.

I don’t mean literally, but I’d say the car owner doesn’t use AM.

I’m guessing you were being sarcastic, but if not, how can you tell that from that screen shot?

Someone mentioned that the presets were Sydney but not the normal ones people used.
