Random Mocks

Actually looks pretty good all things considered with a difficult colour palette to work with.

Nice job, Travis!

Oh, that’s amazing, Travis! I especially love how you’ve incorporated the Eiffel Tower. Nice work :sunglasses: could easily pass that off as an actual graphic.

Thinking about what would the new Paramount CW affiliates look like in September…

The left is based on Nexstar’s CW affiliate template, while the right is the existing CBS indies look in the former’s colour palette.

[UPDATE] Well, in the words of John Cleese, “I prefer mine!”

Some weird thoughts on BBC News’ spinoff units.

The latest Annual Report mentions a new BBC Investigate brand for investigative journalism, similar to Verify for fact-checking and InDepth for analysis. I thought the latter would be too similar to the new arm in its literal meaning, so I renamed it to BBC Analyse.

Aside from the current look and turning it into BBC News [Anything], I tried wordmark layouts in local radio and Studios Productions to stress the [Anything] part more without losing uniformity.

… and some old-time US ones:

NBC Nightly News using Seven News’ logotype in the late 80s…

and PBS starting their weekend news in the analog age.

You have such a knack at replicating the visual style of old graphics, I’d love to be able to replicate the same style myself! :raised_hands::star2:

And that’s definitely not a bad thing.

Here’s my rework of the watermarks of Nine’s Paris 2024 Olympics coverage. I can tell it gives me NBC vibes around.

First of all, welcome to MediaSpy!

Second, WOW. Especially love how you cleaned up the clock, the headline supers now look even more VRT-like (not that it’s a bad thing ), and the negative-Lissajous triangle finally has some real use! Curious on where you’d put the weather & temp info during NB.

You should send this to ABC!

That’s what the new graphics should’ve looked like!

Tried my hands on adopting the NT Election graphics to the new ABC News one, and… it’s probably the best they didn’t launch it that soon :grimacing:

great work

thank you, your comment is very kind. however i think it is important to say that is easy to make a mock without context. the team at the abc may have had similar concepts and determined they didn’t work. i am sure there are many constraints and concerns they must consider that I am not aware of

here are some more updates. i have brought in the shapes from the ABC news social media posts and explored the weather for news breakfast

These look excellent, really good job and look so much better than what the ABC has dished up.

My only comment would be the top strap above the main super, i’d like to see that sit on top of the super and the left side to follow the same shape so it’s not so rounded and looked connected if that makes sense.

Great work!
