Maybe the today logo should be white? The blue looks jarring

Don’t mind the blue personally.
Though looking at it again, while the logo looks better centered between the circle the edges sticking out aren’t balanced each side and it’s throwing it off a bit.
But they had the blue in the past. I’d say incorporated the yellow logo more often. That’s their symbol not white.
Some ideas to tidy up Nine’s new package a little…
And most importantly…for the love of god, bring back a simple, transparent bug:

I just wanted to follow up with the mock I posted two weeks with the feedback onboard.
When I posted it here, I was like wow that was a bit smaller than I envisioned haha. As you said it would be harder to see from far away and especially on smaller screens so I’ve increased the font size on both primary and secondary lines
Made the primary line on graphics all upper caps now 
I just came back to this mock when I saw this absolute stinker of a graphic on 1News a couple days ago

I’d move the ‘breaking’ to the left to sit where the ‘news’ is to better align with the super. The background for the cross is a bit busy too. I like that the logo has been flattened though.

Stuff is a bit low and small imo, good starting point though.
Really love the bones of this! You could mess around with the fonts a bit perhaps, but is a nice evolution of the current graphics, good work.

Did a little mockup when the new CBS Mornings ticker was out on TVNewsTalk before the main supers…
Like what I said on the CBS News thread, I felt its pointy end looks like 10 News, so I tried some of its aspects like the gradients on the headline.
The colour around the edge was originally a strip at the end, but I figured it should be in the same style as the ticker. Also following it was the straight edge between the brand and the headline, contrary to 10’s slanted one.
Fun fact: I originally positioned the Mornings wordmark under a gigantic CBS logo, but I decided to stack it up and added the sun icon underneath - basically calling the official version
