Random Mocks

Nice work, looks good. Definitely some improvement there.

Only other things I would say is to balance it out the Nine logo needs to come down a bit, and not sure I’m a fan of how the logos gradually get small left to right.

I revised my mock, by adding Nine’s slogan, removing Nine’s corporate logo, grouping the Nine logo with the 9Now logo, and took inspiration from your mock, by making the multi-channels’ (9Gem, 9Go!, 9Life, Extra and 9Rush) a bit bigger with a white rectangle, and added colours back in to the logos. Thanks Michael Power for your ideas. I have kept the Extra channel, despite Nine most likely not promoting it.

This is my second-last iteration of my Nine mock design. I adjusted the sizes of the multi-channels’ logos (Extra, 9Gem, 9Go!, 9Life & 9Rush), made the This is the Nine Network - Still the One text a bit smaller, and added the Extra logo to the first line of the rectangle.

Off-topic: Once again, here is my Canva design link, if you would like to tweak my design, see my Seven Network mock in a similar style, or if you just cannot see the above image. (No major changes, just minor tweaks) 7 + Nine channels mock - Canva

I will post the final design after your feedback.

Here is a video of my mock designs related to the Seven and Nine networks, and their multi-channels, via Archive.org.

Off-topic: I used the “Corporate” animation in Canva to make the video. Remember to use the Canva link in my previous post to make comments on my mock.

I don’t quote get what this is supposed to be? A poster? an on-screen ident? A corporate letter head?

I am trying to design a very professional Nine ident, only using Canva.

for TV? like what you’d seen between shows?

In that case then, ditch all the other channel logos. The mishmash of colours and styles is jarring.
And ‘this is the nine network’ is a weird thing to write.
Probably just have the 9 logo, then maybe the 9 Now logo underneath.

I think he’s trying to do something similar like WIN has been doing since the 2021 affiliation swap.
“You’re watching Nine through the WIN Network”.
Just needs more polish. @MichaelPower hits it on the noggin.

I’d also suggest Photoshop or Paint.NET if you can’t afford Photoshop. Both are much better than Canva which really isn’t suited to this type of stuff.

I’m thinking more along the lines of the British UKTV’s off-air loop, which basically has the master brand animated and the multichannel brands all together below (do Aussie networks have these?):

I do have to agree with everyone else - I think you should take a pause, improve your efforts on your own, instead of rushing out stuff. Photopea is also a worthy free alternative to PS - I use it more nowadays once I got the hang out of it.

P.s. psst - MS seems to automatically assumes the paint. NET link is www. paint. net. It’s this instead.

This is the final mock design. I have tided up the dot locations, moved 9Now to before 9Gem’s logo, and focusing on the Still The One slogan by removing the This is The Nine Network text.

Off-topic: I will take a break from making mocks until the April school holidays, and I will try both Photopea and paint.net, for my mocks in June/July. I have Canva Pro, by the way. I might still use Canva for more simple designs. I will improve my mocks, by adjusting per safe areas.

the logos all sorta mash together and the different colours are too jarring still.

You really don’t need the extra channel there. Also what @SA_TV mentioned about the different colours. Change the multichannel logos to a plain colour.

Jacob, I have listened to your suggestions for my improved Nine “ident mock”.

I have manually adjusted the hue and saturation to make the multi-channel logos white. I have also removed the Extra channel.

Off-topic: Yes, I am taking a break from Canva mocks. For more information, see my previous post (#5702).

Ahead of tomorrows “refresh” a bit of a back to the future, but I have remixed more elements of the 2006 theme into the 9News theme to give it a freshen up with a few more backing elements to it.
Keen to hear thoughts!

On the same spirit, just a test fit for NBN:

(P.s. for those looking to recreate the new 9News, the NEWS: Sequel Sans Display Bold, the supers: possibly Motoya Cedar W7)

And something weird: A mix between MSNBC and the old NineMSN?

The channel supers, if Nine and MSN went beyond online collaboration and established a similar channel to MSNBC. Would probably fit into Nine’s 2016 multichannel lineup and become a dedicated 9 News Channel? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
