Looks nice, and I like the inverted style since it’s a late night program, but the issue of the graphics on the right side extending out of the safe-zone (for some TVs at least) occurs to me.

Like that heaps Travis. Well done. I swear we have more talent in the media spy mocks thread then actual thread. I would love to give this W go but being stuck in isolation with Covid i just have no energy.

If only SCA has the cash to redraw the lines 7 News 2022 graphics for their Nightly News refresh. While it’s still unclear when will SCA keep holding to their Seven affiliates, I hope they can catch up with the metro counterparts someday.

What I meant was: Southern Cross managed to mimic Seven News’ graphics for their local news services in Tassie and Spencer Gulf/Broken Hill. I was wondering when will SCA make a refreshed package, since Seven already rolled theirs out elsewhere, to which SCA can’t for obvious reasons.
Nearly every aspect of the new 7 graphic package involves angles - headlines, many of the supers, the ticker, the background etc. The big exception is the main supers that are square.
Simple mock with angles on the main supers and location.

I’ve been playing around with my own tweaks to the graphics, this was my version (very similar to yours):
The other main change I would make is to the top left graphic:
I also went for proper black, flat colours and got rid of the to-the-edge look.

That one’s better. If only SCA hires you to make the rest of the package.

Looks great @JacobA. Making the supers smaller might be a good idea though.

Looks good, but the text on the bottom super needs to be centered in the box.
The top strap could probably do with the weight being increased a little too, to make it bolder.
Agreed about the top strap being bolder, but am matching the 7 design

I was watching 7 News this morning and saw this weather graphic again focussing on all of those minor towns in WA
It made me think - they really should make these maps to cover the locations with the largest populations, rather than trying to fill every space on the map.
Here’s my mock-up of this map with the top 15 cities by population on the map.
I think this would be much better, IMO…
