Think JJJ takes RDS from DAB, so might be taking RT from the wrong DAB station. It’s happened to JJJ in Brisbane a few times.
Either that or a hip new band has decided to call themselves “Nine Radio” and release a song called “News Sport Talk” !!
Surely just a temporary glitch?
98.9 triple j - Illawara/Wollongong has changed their PI code once again.
It’s now showing as: 2323 (ex 2123)
92.7 still with 0000
still hasn’t been fixed as of last night ![]()
RDS on Curtin 100.1 yesterday. with the PS “CurtinFM” no Radiotext
However due to misconfiguration the RDS was audible and was annihilating the entire MPX
Was removed in the afternoon
Speaking of RDS in Perth, will be interesting to see if/what RDS the ABC puts on it’s Local, RN and News stations on FM.
Hopefully they’ll be on air by April, I’ll be over there then for the NRL double header on 11th as my team is playing and have a road trip planned down to Albany across to Esperance and up to Kalgoorlie, so looking forward to seeing if there is any RDS out there other than on Hit.
Up in Coffs Harbour on my way to the Gold Coast for Christmas
Some RDS changes noted
101.5 2GLA Forster has incorporated their callsign into the PS (was just GLFM previously)..
100.3 2RE Forster relay now with RDS. Details look to be the same as the main 88.9 signal.
103.1 2WET Kempsey has mysteriously added an asterisk in its PS. New PI code too (was 2103 previously).
Still no RDS on Sky Racing 101.5 Kempsey… I think I recall @4TAB-1008kHz saying it was meant to happen this year, just checking its not inactive for any reason?
Not seen this before.
Whilst in Stanthorpe for lunch today (on the way back home from the Gold Coast), this spur of 2TEN FM on 105.9 has two valid & correct AFs but the main 98.7 signal only has one RDS
FM 92.9 Tamworth “Now Playing” RDS Text when taking the network feed ![]()
They do have song info when locally programmed though, but somewhat surprisingly TMFM doesn’t have song info when not on the network feed (possibly because the feed is largely talk or sport?).
Just noticed using the new plugin @tvcl has installed on his server, Northside 99.3 has Long PS! Very nice.
I am loving the fact this is becoming well known.
I noticed that all regional triple J stations in Victoria have been perfectly synced recently (they all used to be a few seconds different to each other but not anymore). Fingers crossed that this is a sign of AF frequency switching to come
Maybe im being too optimistic but having AF and RDS on the triple J network would be so good.
I assume all the national stations outside the cap cities (RN, CFM, JJJ and PNN) are satellite fed?
Perth ABC AM to FM conversion is proceeding along nicely
Semi local Lancerlin 2 commercial stations are moving HITS 102.3 is/has moved to 102.9 and MMM 103.9 is/has moved to 104.5 both new TXs are slightly reduced in power at my location
Hopefully this is only temporary
Both stations will be using RDS. Conditions were enhanced enough on the 2nd Jan 26 to confirm PI Codes
It will be interesting to see if these PI codes are permanent, as the default MMM code is FFFF and we know what issues that caused preciously with some radios.
This is great news for Lancelin. FM stereo and RDS. No more mono, drop outs, distortion and 6FMS/6SAT crosstalk audio.
One to watch, the message on 102.9 quotes 6FMS ‘Mix FM’ service. Id say this is meant to be ‘HIT FM’ service and is a voiceover error. This ABC help article has the same info.

96FM also announced on their FB page that the changeover to GOLD96FM is coming soon. they revealed the generic GOLDFM logo slightly modified to GOLD96FM So expect a similar RDS change in the next couple of weeks
Some regional ABC sites have local state news on Classic FM and RN and I assumed these were terrestrial/microwave fed but they might have state based feeds for Classic FM and RN on satellite now maybe?
In the past there was only one satellite feed per timezone and it was national news not state based news.
