I didn’t notice it change, so there’s the one difference
Which one is Hot90.7 then?
Ouyen is “HotFM 90.7”, Robinvale is the other
Reflecting on today’s adventures some more, I also did not notice any sort of RDS from FlowFM at Turriff and haven’t seen it for some time. I’m heading down to Speed next week so can get up close to the site and see if its just a low RDS level.
Yes - was noted.
Geez and I even replied to your comment about Triple J time
Pulse 94.1 Wollongong has had “Now: Known - Tauren Wells” stuck for the past few weeks

Awesome. Thanks so much for that. Very useful for us dxers
Thanks heaps for that.
I’d been looking for it during the earlier months when tropo was more prevalent & still hadn’t received RDS, which made me wonder if it was on or as you pondered if it’s just a low RDS subcarrier.
ABC Classic GC has changed to “Classic” from “ABC Clas”
Classy.
I’m suspecting a failed RDS encoder, but I guess we’ll find out. As for 3MBS I’m more than likely going to visit Murrayville for work in the next few weeks, and can check it out then while I’m there. Hopefully the deviation has been fixed up to be 75us rather than the 50us it was last time I was there, it sounded crap on everything I tried to listen in on.
What about: “ABC Class, your new educational FM radio station” /s
Consistent with Brisbane and Southern Downs, which is good.
Now for a consistent PI code to enable AF switching…
Assuming the feeds are in sync, which may not be the case.
I recall the ABC tried that with Triple J in Sydney and Wollongong but they had to switch it off because the feeds were not in sync, and in some areas like Campbelltown, it made it a bit of a mess.
I remember driving around in Europe with radio networks that had AF but the transmitters weren’t synchronised. It was quite jarring when the AF switch happened because the stations were like 10 seconds out of sync.
Another station just had the traffic programme (TP) flag on all the time, so no matter what station you switched to, it would just switch back to the TP station. A good way to force people to listen to your station, I guess . At least for those who can’t figure out what’s happening and how to turn off the TP switch on their car radio.
Yes that and different news feeds for stations & then in the border regions eg between NSW & QLD during AEDST a 1hr time difference. Much to consider.

Hopefully the deviation has been fixed up to be 75us rather than the 50us it was last time I was there, it sounded crap on everything I tried to listen in on.
Not sure if you’re confusing multiple things? Deviation is related to the channel bandwidth & how much it deviates from the carrier frequency due to modulation & that should be no more than 75kHz, unless it’s way over deviating, it shouldn’t make any or much difference to the sound, way over deviation will sound distorted, under deviation no real change in sound but lower volume.
50uS & 75uS are related to pre-emphasis/de-emphasis in which that varies the upper-mid & highs frequencies in the audio, if you get the transmit end wrong the receiver end will either under or over de-emphasise, depending on where/what the receiver settings are made for, so the audio will sound either dull or tinny.
My apologies, yes it was the pre-emphasis being out of wack on this particular station
Been on the roadtrip to Speed and back, RDS was there on FlowFM but it did drop off rather quickly, so low levels appear to be correct. All details match what is currently logged in the RDS sheet
