Radio Data System (RDS)

Nova 106.9 RDS is back, just went scanning on the TEF Servers. Looks like Hot Tomato have added an On Air Now Feed to their RDS RT Too

Someone at Bridge FM must have listened as they are now located on Clear Mountain.

Terrific thanks. And they’ve finally fixed their incorrect static RT A flag problem to correct RT A/B flag message toggling. A step in the right direction by Nova Ent. Engineering.

I thought they were clearer the other day. Nice upgrade

Community Radio

Might be good if a mod can split this into the community radio section too

Yes, thanks, but still a bug for them resolve.

Christo not scheduled to commence shift until midday.

I’ve seen it say Christo at 9:30am before now. Definately something they should fix

When did JOY94.9 FM reinstate their RDS?

RDS levels have been up and down for a while now, some days it decodes alright and some barely at all.

When I was staying at Southbank in late June, I was there for 4 days and didn’t see any RDS on JOY at all.

2NURFM Newcastle has always had a strange implementation of RDS & then for some reason they list the artist before the song title & with no hyphen or anything between to actually differentiate the title & artist, then this came up today, I know what it should be but can’t figure out how they managed to get it like this?

Sending ARTIST, immediately followed by TITLE , and likely have a 30 character limit on each field.

yes, most stations in Aus seem to format TITLE before ARTIST.
I think most of the UK is the other way around, with ARTIST first. As is JJJ, Rebel & Breeze.

No RDS from 100.3 Bay FM Brisbane at the moment.

I noticed 91.1 TribeFM in the southern suburbs of Adelaide didn’t have any data for the spreadsheet, so here is the TEF advanced page.

PI is F911.
RT text is fixed to ‘Heartland of the Onkaparinga’.
The AF I suspect is using default settings as some frequencies shown aren’t to Australian standards.

Also noticed that the Faith FM relay nearby in Moana shows RDS but has a blank PS, PTY and RT, with the PI showing up as F000.

Thanks for that. :slightly_smiling_face:
Tribe FM is in the Spreadsheet, at the bottom under ‘Willunga’, but looking at the locality & the ACMA LAP kmz shapefile it should be included in Adelaide. So I’ll move it up there.
The data for Tribe FM was incomplete & 6 years old, so an update was very much needed & much appreciated .

I’ll add Faith FM Moana too. It’s definitely an odd one amongst the other Faith FM RDS clones.

Do you have a frequency for this Faith FM outlet in or near Moana @ninkeon58 ?
Looking at the ACMA register closest possibility is 87.8 at Old Noarlunga / Seaford
, just north of Moana for Faith FM. Would that be it?

If you have any further free time whilst in Adelaide we’re also after any advanced TEF RDS
screenshots of: Nova 91.9 & 99.1, 96.7 Mix102.3 & 100.5 Wow FM. Any help greatly appreciated. :slightly_smiling_face:

I’ll be in Adelaide in early September, I’ll definitely get them then anyhow.

I can confirm it was 87.8 in Old Noarlunga. Just tried for the commercial relays from the city and no go, seems after the sun went down the noise floor went up with it. Even in the day, where I am it barely got them so not surprising the TEF didn’t see RDS. No sign of Wow FM either on 100.5
