Thanks for kind offer. But subsequently thanks to another kind contributor, we now have answers related to PNN on 101.5MHz.
The RDS List has been updated.
Yeah I have to say I to always like to see the frequency mentioned. Itâs feedback that should be provided back to the manufacturers.
On the Sunny coast for a few days having a break at a friends place, ABC Classic 88.7 just decoded RDS with the same Dynamic PS as Brisbane but very weak injection. One for your RDS sheet @ozbark
I always wondered if 88.7 did the same as 89.5 but never had the time to check extensively (much harder to leave Classic FM on in the car without it being noticed - triple j is much easier with my partner around). Thanks for confirming that!
I think youâll find this situation changing in the not-too-distant future! Iâm already at the age where ABCFM is one of my preferred choices. JJJ went in the bin somewhere around 2006 for me
Just the one region to be repopulated in the list now, which I may need some assistance with.
BTW our group should be very appreciative of the great job @Radiohead did with populating the Tassie RDS List & his time & miles procuring so much info for us all.
In fact lots of RDS work done by many of us over the past few weeks. Lots of surprising new entries & data with more to come.
Had an RDS induced channel change this morning, unwanted in a spot unexpected.
I was in the work car this morning (same one I did the RDS video in) & was stopped at the traffic lights near the Lake Macquarie FM transmitter site, cnr Pacific Hwy & Kanangra Dr, Crangan Bay listening to New FM, was only half listening at the time & after an ad break a song started, ran for about 5 seconds then a different song started, then took notice & looked at the radio to find it had retuned to Smooth 95.3, I couldnât tune NEW FM back in with the preset so tried Hit 106.9 preset & it went straight onto Nova 96.9.
This spot is just out of the Newcastle licence area, but well out of the Sydney licence area & even if thereâs fortuitous reception, NOVA entertainment shouldnât be interfering with the local stations & forcing them to change on the radio, I knew why it changed & knew a way around it to tune back in, but 99% of the public wouldnât have a clue what just happened.
I honestly couldnât give a rats about Hit 106.9, SCA make their own problems, but Iâm going to have to contact NEW FM & help them out, screw NOVA, theyâve done this deliberately, they know what theyâre doing & are quite frankly being an ass about it.
Sensible and pragmatic outcome from @AJ1 given Novaâs reluctance to address the issue at their end. Can confirm tonight I was on 92.9 in Brisbane (before I saw this post) and there was no issue of switching even when I had a âBreezeGCâ decode.
What I did have, slightly unrelated, was when I had a decode of 92.9 Voice Toowoomba, it switched me to 102.9 Hot Tomato. Same last two digits of the PI code there, and on a south facing hill 102.9 was the superior signal.
Just curious if anyone has heard of any incorrect RDS station switching between NOVA 100.3 with their new PI code of 3003 & any other FM station or DAB+ station in the Melbourne region? This would be their 3rd PI code now for 100.3MHz.
K Rock in Geelong has a PI code of 3203
Not sure if the 2nd digit issue applies to SIdâs of DAB+
DAB+ has ABC RN in Melb with SId of 3103
DAB+ has SBS PopAsia in Melb with SId of 3903
Yup combination of radio stations trying to match a PI code to a frequency & roughly follow CRAâs rubbish PI Code allocation guidelines as @Rubbishman recently commented similarly on.
102.9 PI=4029, 92.9 PI=4929
Also discovered 93.9 Flow FM Bunnaloo NSW is on air with RDS. Signal was pretty weak in Echuca, only good enough for partial RDS decode, but got PS, PI and PTY info.
Worksheet updated with Bendigo, Bunnaloo and Echuca info.
Thanks for the update. They were already interfering enough with 88.6 when they were in mono, and now this? What are the chances of the ACMA giving a crap about these frequency allocations, about 0.00001%?
