ARN techs had set up home studios for talent last week in Melbourne (at the very least for KIIS, anyway) - why the hell havenāt they been used?
Other markets are already working from home, I know Perth is for one.
News coming from Sydney this morning, and Iām yet to hear a traffic update this hour.
There wouldnāt be much traffic on the road anyway?
The 24 hour emergency corona lockdown Christian referred to in his tweet this morning was due to this:
Itās quiet at the moment - plenty of roadworks to report on though! I jumped the gun with this observation, there was an update after 8:30.
No OC in the 9am hour, which is usually more music-intensive anyway. Craig Huggins took 9-1, Toni Tenaglia on air now
Coronavirus must be running rife in America.
It clearly is and has been for some time by the looks. I think the US is the elephant in the room in this regard.
I mentioned in the Seven News thread that their bulletins should not be giving advice on the best places to surf and fish while at the same time giving strong advice to stay at home.
Itās also time for 4KQ to stop Brownieās Coast Reports doing similar things. ATM he does acknowledge that people probably shouldnāt be going out fishing and it is up to them whether they do; so how about dropping the advice.
While some of ARNās shows are adding an extra hour, Christian OāConnell dropped an hour last week and is now running 6-9am. Craig Huggins picks up the 9-10am hour once again
Edit: clearly this wasnāt permanent - heās doing the 9-10am hour again this week, but sounds like the breaks are pre-recorded rather than live
It is contradictory.
If you go fishing or camping and are not in proximity to others and have no contact, where is the risk of community transmission?
A couple of weekends ago, both Burty and Bradnam were crowing on weekend fishing and boating reports that getting outside was perhaps the best place you could be, free of others, out on your own.
But if everyone else gets the same idea, then youāre not on your own anymore.
Unless you have your own boat maybe.
Home is the only place where you are as safe as you can be.
Thatās what they were saying, get out on your own boat or camp on your own. Many of those āpreppersā are going bush on their own too, apparently their services are highly sought after now.
5 hour shifts seem to be the go at Gold 104.3 this week with OāConnell on survey break. Craig Huggins did 6-11am, Toni Tenaglia on from 11.
Another 1000 song Easter for 4KQ.
I should bring my portable digital radio and listen at work
It may only be this week - OC said on Friday that he was looking at only taking this week off
4KQās Easter countdown started at about 9.30 this morning. The breakfast team was still on air then.
WSFM is doing the Eggcellent 80s for Easter.
As did Gold in Melbourne.
Caught Gavin Miller mention this in a break a few minutes ago - back on Thursday morning.
