Imagine if 10 could devise something as big budget as Halo or Star Trek as a local drama here.

10 planned to film a mini-series called Batavia (based on the book by Peter Fitzsimons) a decade ago but it didn’t eventuate. It would have been suitable for P+ and would have found overseas sales.

I think it’s becoming more clear that any new drama 10 commissions (now) has to be adaptable for overseas audiences. Paramount most likely will distribute this on its wider platforms around the world.

There was an American TV series in 1984 called Paper Dolls about a modelling agency. Not to be confused with Models Inc from 1994. Both were big flops.

New promo for The Bridge aired during Australian Survivor finale tonight, saying it is “coming soon”.

Looks like filming has started.

It’s also on P+.

Perhaps Paramount+ is getting second window rights on Tokyo Vice, given it will premiere on SBS in late 2022.

This is a bit similar to Why Women Kill which streams on both SBS on Demand and P+.

Possibly, or just that P+ have SVOD right which are obviously handled and sold differently than FTA or limited BVOD rights for On Demand.

Interesting that the posters say ViacomCBS
