This seems to come up every so often… weirdly only for Ten.
We use the word not the numeral for threads - as seen with Seven and Nine, who use the numeral in their logo. Ten, I guess an outlier as they switched but of all the holes to poke in the user’s argument I’m not sure 10/Ten’s spelling is one of them.
Na, all good. I was just saying that he isn’t the only one to refer to it as Ten lol.
You really need to let go of whatever issue you have with me.
Still trying to understand why it’s always the 10 threads that attract the most batshit comments.
I hardly post much anymore. Certainly not as frequently as before.
Who is MBB anyway?
A slightly annoying person I feel because whenever I read the articles about how Ten have recorded their worst ratings in television history, they always refer to the network as Ten not 10.
Your arrogance is showing! FYI I’m not English and I probably came here before you were born. But just incase you hadn’t noticed this discussion is also part of English history.
Right, we’ve probably all had enough of this. I know I certainly have.

So what is paramount strategy now for its streaming ajd free to air service now that no main sporting organization takes its bids for sports seriously despite the deep pocket and large bids?
They didn’t even go for the 5 Olympic rights deal that would’ve given it 10 weeks over 10 years to promote the service. They don’t go for these short one off events. Maybe they should to try and build the brand.
Unless they have sport and a properly resourced news department they won’t be considered a proper modes network in this country and will fail to attract advertisers.
Rugby next season has got to be the target. Will Nine be able to hold onto it with the new Tennis and the Olympics deals?
Even the Victoria 2026 Commonwealth Games - it’s a home event. 10 should go for that- it will rate well
Supercars are also a must.
In the meantime, P+ needs to fix its delivery system and build up a line-up of “tier 2” sports like swimming and hockey (currently with Fox Sports).
They could an event sport strategy:
Rugby World Cups 2027
Football World Cups 2026 and 2030
Comm Games 2026 and 2030
Netball world cups
I don’t even know if those events are tied up but it’s just an idea. More ideas than the current management at 10 can muster. They continue to roll through year after year we try failed programming.
And any other shitty sports they can muster up. Just to show they can broadcast sport again.
Yeah they need some sort of portfolio of sport to add to the A League if the NRL take them seriously for rights for 2028 onwards.
The NBL is halfway through its current three-year deal, and they already have the Sunday double-header on Peach, so that might be something to target as well.
Paramount should definitely go for it as the tournament will be held in Australia. Negotiations for the broadcast rights are expected to begin in 2024, after this year’s RWC in France (Stan is the primary Australian broadcaster with Nine to also show Wallabies matches and the final).
The problem with NRL: They are like AFL and CA with Foxtel, where they are super close with them except they partner with Nine not Seven. Ten will need to get some B-grade sports and maybe remake the FTA sport channel (ONE HD 2009-2011) to be taken seriously.
Rugby will probably stay where it is atm. Nine will want to air the 2027 home RWC in Australia
