That is shocking. What a state this network is in (again).
Sack the hard working news department just to keep your bonus.
I know what the executives prefer but I think bonuses can get stuffed these days when businesses are struggling to stay afloat properly.
Why would they suddenly be cutting costs? when there owned by CBS.
It all changed when CBS merged with Viacom
VidCon Unveils First Rebrand, Expands Global Footprint Through Virtual Events In Tandem With Live Experiences.
- VidConâs Digitally Delivered Experience, VidCon Now, Will Extend to Year-Round; Nearly One Million People Attended Since June 2020 Launch.
- VidCon U.S. Plans Return to Anaheim This Summer, Will Offer Digital Ticket Types For First Time Ever.
VidCon, the worldâs largest celebration of online video and digital creators, today announced its first rebrand since launching over a decade ago, introducing a completely new look along with a digital and in-person hybrid event strategy aimed at continuing to engage and galvanize the global creator community.
As part of its rebrand, VidCon will also extend its VidCon Now digital event year-round. The news comes after VidCon successfully pivoted its 2020 U.S. convention to a weekly virtual experience, attracting nearly one million unique attendees tuning in live and on VOD to programming across VidConâs signature tracks, creator meet & greets, and consumer tentpole events. VidCon Now returns on October 27, 2020, with speakers and sessions from around the globe.
âWe started VidCon more than a decade ago to help strengthen and promote the explosion of creativity that was happening online. We did that by bringing together the entire ecosystem: the creators who make amazing things, the fans who love them, and the industry that supports them,â said Hank Green.
âThat ecosystem continues to grow and evolve beyond what we ever imagined, as has VidCon, and weâre excited to extend the magic of this event to the community no matter where they are accessing it from. Our new logo and brand refresh reflects our creator roots in the creator community, our global evolution, and our unchanging vision to bring this incredible community together for an inclusive, fun, collaborative, informative, and supportive experience year-round.â
Today, VidCon also announced that it has begun planning its annual US event for summer 2021 in Anaheim, California. For the first time ever, VidCon will introduce new digital ticketing options for its attendees - one that offers live streaming of key fan-focused sessions and another that delivers on-demand access to Industry and Creator Track workshops, panels, and keynotes year-round.
âAs VidCon looks forward to 2021, we want to celebrate the amazing global community that supports, innovates, and continues to expand community- led media,â said Jim Louderback.
âAlmost one million people tuned in to VidCon Now over the last three months, showcasing the power and influence of the online creator community and the desire to connect - even when IRL isnât an option. With nearly half of our VidCon Now audience coming from outside the US, weâve clearly demonstrated that VidCon transcends borders - more than 180 of them to be exact. Our new hybrid digital and IRL model will extend VidConâs global reach with more new ways to be informed, entertained, and inspired than ever before.â
In addition to expanding the VidCon experience to international audiences through digital tickets, VidCon Now will program sessions customised to VidConâs international markets. This new initiative will debut with VidCon Mexico and VidCon Asia, where virtual panels will be programmed in native languages and appropriate time zones, providing locally relevant experiences to a global audience.
The VidCon logo and redesign was facilitated by UTA Brand Lab.
Small wins!
That is unprecedented for one commercial network to win so many awards, let alone gold. Most years they are lucky to win one gold plus a couple of lesser ones.
No other commercial network won any awards.
Full list.
They totally deserved awards for their Iâm A Celebrity and Survivor promos earlier this year. Both were epic and classic 10 (and a special shout out to Shirley Bassey),
This is one of the promos that won an award.
Now itâs ViacomCBS compared to just CBS when they first bought Ten, does ViacomCBS have money to keep Ten afloat ⊠or are they now looking at cutting costs?
Yeah, they have plenty of money.
Obviously.
Although whether or not they want to keep spending big money on 10 remains to be seen, if recent events were anything to go by.
literally every company on the planet is looking at cutting costs right now

ViacomCBS Networks International (VCNI) has today announced that Jarrod Villani will join Beverley McGarvey, Chief Content Officer and Executive Vice President, as co-lead of ViacomCBS Australia and New Zealand.
As Chief Operating and Commercial Officer and co-lead with McGarvey, Villani will be responsible for all the combined companyâs commercial activities and operations in both markets.
Most recently, Villani was Queenslandâs Head of Restructuring and Brisbaneâs Head of Office at advisory and investment firm KordaMentha. He brings to the role a wealth of experience specialising in organisational transformation, business stabilisation and sustainable growth.
McGarvey, who was promoted to the new role of Chief Content Officer and Executive Vice President in March this year, led the integration and transformation of ViacomCBS Australia and New Zealand. She is responsible for all content and creative activities related to the companyâs networks and digital properties in Australia and New Zealand.

Kyriacou commented: âNetwork 10 has performed very well this year. It is the only commercial network growing its audience and it has also recorded its highest commercial shares in key demographics since 2011. The integration and transformation of Network 10 and ViacomCBS under the leadership of Beverley has been successfully completed. We have launched a new channel, 10 Shake, 10 Play is experiencing its biggest ever digital audience and the MTV and Nickelodeon channels have also grown their share.
âWe will continue to build on that momentum, while at the same time leveraging the powerful ViacomCBS brands and assets from both a content and revenue perspective.
âJarrod is a highly qualified commercial leader with extensive experience in organisational transformation and stakeholder management. Jarrodâs broad commercial knowledge coupled with Beverleyâs experience as an Australian media and creative leader ensures the business remains a unique and powerful media group. It is in great hands.
âI would like to congratulate Beverley for her leadership of ViacomCBS Australia and New Zealand since March this year. It is a credit to Beverley and her team that the business has continued to compete and evolve.â
Kyriacou added: âI would also like to take this opportunity to thank the KordaMentha team, led by Henriette Rothschild who has been interim Chief Transformation Officer. Henriette has been instrumental in ensuring the merged Network 10 and ViacomCBS Australia and New Zealand businesses are well positioned for the future.â
McGarvey said: âI am thrilled Jarrod is joining our team and I look forward to working closely with him alongside the existing Executive Leadership Team and the international leadership team as we take ViacomCBS Australia and New Zealand into 2021.
âNext year we will launch premium SVOD service Paramount + whilst growing our existing linear and subscription broadcast and digital assets. Jarrod has worked closely with the team throughout this year and on a project basis in the past and we are thrilled to have him join us on a permanent basis.â
Villani said: âI am delighted to be joining Beverley, Rod and the team at ViacomCBS and continuing the development of the business. The combination of ViacomCBSâ global content portfolio and Network 10âs broad reach and key demographic prominence provides a unique opportunity in our markets for our viewers and partners across multiple platforms.
âItâs a very exciting time for the network and the broader ViacomCBS business and I look forward to joining them in the new year.â
Villani will commence as Chief Operating and Commercial Officer, ViacomCBS Australia and New Zealand in early 2021.
Bringing in someone from KordaMentha⊠The same company that specialises in liquidations and has recently been tasked by the SA Government to cut millions from the health systemâŠ
Wow. This is not good news for 10. There will be nothing left.
He wouldâve overseen 10âs 2017 too. Reward for a good job?
And as far as Iâm aware, news is stable as is now.
there canât be anything left to cut back, in News or otherwise?
