Great. The potential for another Shanks debacle.
Well at least it is an American not a Pom⌠maybe it will go towards to the CBS vision?
Why is that good news?
No point if ViacomCBS London is still calling the shots.
What about Tim Worner, wonder what heâs up to these days?
According to his LinkedIn profile - âCurrently on extended leaveâ.
âto lead Tenâ
Last I remember, they were on the right path before Viacom yanked the life out of themâŚ
What an absolute mess.
Letâs make a dual leadership position. Give me a break.
More so, âletâs keep Beverley McGarvey on the books until we can get the new guy up and running.â. I give Beverly 6 months.
Iâm surprised its taken this long
As I said, whatever appointment is pointless for as long as Viacom London is still running the joint at 10. It wouldnât change their big direction unless the running powers were handed back to CBS (which unfortunately wonât happen).
A Network 10 spokesman said, âan announcement will be made soonâ.
Could be a good thing if someone associated with turning Channel Five UK around is appointed to Ten to steer them out of the doldrums.
Now that Ten isnât pretending they can be a player in the news and current affairs arena they can focus on recalibrating the prime time schedule and growing share. Five is going against trend by growing its share of the audience in the UK. Theyâve signed up some big name talent and the channelâs expansion under ViacomCBS was rewarded with a Channel of the Year gong at the British Broadcast Awards for the first time ever.
It wouldnât be such a bad thing if Ten were to follow the Five model and boost audience share with some factual programming and low cost scripted content.
I agree that this has the potential to work for 10 but it will only work if a large number of those unscripted and all of the potential factual series are high quality and appealing to the Australian audiences. The Channel 5 programs are incredibly niche and I donât think 10 needs to go down that particular direction.
Follow the model but produce higher quality programs and the audience will flock to 10.
Also local news rates itâs tits off here, itâs a different market, one size doesnât fit all
Interesting that they used the red logo, usually the blue corporate one is used for all sponsorships.
They should have Josh Holt involved somehow, usually Georgie wouldâve been involved and I seem to recall Lachlan a few years ago too.
hmm⌠unlikely now
10 is far more successful now than 5 is.
Expect the 10 Upfronts 2022 to be a rather dull affair, if what The Australian is reporting is correct. It is claimed that Ten executives have been told: âCut costs by 10-15 per cent EVERY year, or you wonât get your bonuses.â
