My Spotify stats.fm would suggest I am a liar, sitting in the rock genre.
Roxette at #24? Please donât go anywhere near music testing, Triple M and Gold/WS plays enough of them as it isâŚ
With music, you have to Listen To Your Heart. I think commercial radio would like The Look of that top artists log.
Iâm finding it Dangerous personally.
Steady on!
(Hold on tightâŚ)
Speaking of Roxette itâs kind of sad that some underrated songs such as âVulnerable,â âAlmost Unrealâ (from Super Mario Bros 1993), âRun to Youâ and âWish I Could Flyâ from âCrash! Boom! Bang!â And âHave a Nice Dayâ are seriously underplayed compared to their songs from âLook Sharp!â And âJoyrideâ since both of their albums get flogged from end to end.
Oh yes! Iâm embarrassed to say Iâd forgotten about that one (now adding to my Spotify). I dunno why I forgot about it, guess I was sleeping in my car.
This one is a classic on the Billy Bob Broadcasting Network (my show, Inphase on SWR, Powerzone dot me).
If underplayed Roxette (and Per Gessle) is your thing, Powerzone dot me is your show.
He might feel Vulnerable after reading that. Or feeling Dressed For Success. Iâm thinking the latter.
Personally Iâm more concerned about Celine Dion at #19 than Roxette at #24. But each to their own.
Hahaha. I actually like some Celine songs!
Over on Nova 93.7FM Perth, they played that Taylor Swift song, âCruel Summerâ. This song has been flogged so many times on radio, especially at this yearâs Eras Tour concerts across Australia, Singapore, Europe and North America.
Crash Boom Bang and Fading Like A Flower are great songs
Fairytale of New York on Gold 104.3 this arvo. A bunch of slurred, Anglo-Irish nonsense.
Just spent the last three hours listening to last nightâs show. First time listener. Not just a great selection of songs but the order they were played in plus having a DJ putting context and the history around songs and artists was spot on.
I have Magic 1278 on in my office every day and (whoah oh) theyâre half way there with some of the songs and back announcements but I wish they would be more risky with their playlist and pull out some more of the âbig 12 inchesâ.
Iâm gonna go take a listen while I have a showerâŚ
Iâm already hooked by the tease⌠err hummm⌠first #1 by a scottish/aussie singer???, aussie band disbanded in 89??? ⌠and a song nominated for two grammies??? All three got me intrigued
Wash though mouth out!!!
I disagree. Itâs not Christmas until I hear that one
Never been a fan either. Another critically acclaimed song that doesnât do anything for me is âLove Will Tear Us Apartâ by Joy Division. I much prefer the New Order stuff.
Iâm sure plenty will take umbrage to this, not least @tamago_otoko . But if you simply swallow received wisdom, youâre committing a logical fallacy!
I really wish 4BH would stop flogging this song:
â(Come up and See Me)Make Me Smile â by Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel. Itâs still an okay song but Iâve just heard it too much lately
Totally agree. Itâs a song that really drones on!
Iâve been listening to Smooth Extra today and they played Over my shoulder - Paul Carrick, that would sound good on 4BH.
