Now I like this song, but this gets played a lot on New Years Eve, and I’ve already heard it twice tonight

Ballroom blitz - the Sweet 4BH
Kinda agree with this one though I don’t mind hearing it every now and then. There are plenty of other good songs from Sweet that don’t get played, such as ‘Action’ and ‘Teenage Rampage’. ‘Fox On The Run’ is possibly more overplayed.
2WS had a fondness for playing the Sweet version of ‘Peppermint Twist’ on Jukebox Saturday Night in the early 2000s, but you don’t hear it much now.

A candy colored clown they call the sandman, tiptoes to my room everynight
“I Don’t Care” by Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber is getting flogged to oblivion on Triple M Regionals, Six years after its release! I mean i can stomach Sheeran on the regional M’s but jeezum crow, i don’t see Justin Bieber being a Regional Triple M artist!
Anything by him deserves to be on this thread. I personally can’t stand his music.
Yeah it would seem that Jay Biebs is there on a plus one guest pass courtesy of Ed.
It is interesting however just how much airplay this track gets, as you say, it’s four years old.
I don’t mind some of Ed Sheeran songs, but my personal taste of that song is
Don’t think I fit in at this party.
Was at Woolworths today, and they played ‘Baby’ by Justin Bieber.
The only ‘Baby Baby’ song I like is the Ratcat one from the early 90s.
I don’t mind the Amy Grant song either, but that’s probably nostalgia for me. It was played regularly when I first started watching Rage as a youngster.
I do prefer Ratcat of course.
I too love the song by Amy Grant.
Styx - Babe is a good song, slightly off naming but I like it
Been slamming Slam! for most of the day and have heard Shane Codd’s Get out my head four times… and due to hear it again soon… Nothing wrong with thrashing a great song that’s four ½ years old.
Ten times a day.
Some songs have an uncanny ability to endure bouts of heavy rotation and this is certainly one of them. Go Slam! Keep going at this rate and you should overtake Capital for the most number of spins by the end of the year!
Sick of these tunes;
Don Henley; “Boys of Summer”
ELO, “Don’t Bring Me Down “ this song is not my favourite one from them ,Shine a Little Love” and “Rockaria” ,I prefer instead
I also like “Last Train to London “
Triple M Awesome 80s on the Regional stations via Triple M Newcastle 102.9 was absolutely shocking for me yesterday as I heard “The Best” by Tina Turner (Bonnie Tyler cover) and “What About Me” by Moving Pictures for the umpteenth time this week. Now don’t get me wrong, I do prefer the duet version of Tina’s rendition of the former song with Jimmy Barnes but as of recently both the metro and regional M’s has been flogging Tina’s version from end to end, and don’t get me started on “What About Me” as Triple M has flogged this song to death for years, not to mention Shannon Noll’s cover has ruined this song for me especially the 7+ ad campaign.
Yeah, their Awesome 80s has become too repetitive and predictable, it used to be better, hearing 12 inch mixes and the rarer tracks you don’t normally hear.
Yes. Great track. Though I will freely admit I can listen to Sweet talking woman every day until the day I die.
I’d be sick of Don Henley’s Boys of summer too.
The secret is to broaden your scope. Listen to something different. It may seem uncomfortable at first, but I’m sure you’ll find something that you’ll love that’s not the same old 80s shite. DJ Sammy’s version is superb. And it’s not 80s.
Ditch it. Try something new. I’ve always been a fan of 80s synth-pop (and still am) and when La Roux came along I embraced the sound, despite them not being around when I was a teenager.
Some people will try and tell you that great music ended when you turned 18. That’s bullshite. If you’re bored of the same old 80s shite the answer is not just 12" remixes of the same old tired tracks you’re already bored of.
When I was a radio announcer on Wild FM I fell in love with EDM. I still enjoy 80s music from my youth but will forever be a fan of EDM, hence why I listen to and enjoy a lot of new music. Find a niche you like, a genre that tickles your fancy. And one where there’s constantly new music in that genre that’s being released.
Even if you stuck with the 80s and sought ‘rarer tracks’ - they’ll run out in no time. Rare tracks are suddenly not so rare anymore after a few listens.
There’s plenty of music recorded since the 80s that you’ll enjoy more than Moving pictures B-sides.
