I doubt it’ll be in June for one, but as yet it is not confirmed if Gold AM (Radio Sport’s frequency replacement) will carry it. There may not be any radio commentary.
I think for as long as I remember there was coverage of rugby league in NZ. I was there in around 1999 or so and there I tend to recall there was NRL on a Saturday night there was rugby league on (once the rugby had finished I believe). I am showing my age now.

Yep, sadly with Radio Sport NZ shutting down there’s no guarantee there will be calls.
I would suggest Gold would be favourites as there is a partnership between NZME and the Warriors as sponsors, but at this stage there’s no coverage assured, is my understanding.
Also, ABC were doing the games off tube by the end of it as well.

Yep, used to be Radio Sport, who called Super Rugby, NPC and All Blacks.
Now those commentaries are carried on Gold AM.
ZB does All Blacks only (Gold simulcast, used to be Radio Sport)

Be interesting if ABC will fly people over when Warriors games are played at home. I hope so. 
I still feel being at the ground is a lot better but understand Covid etc. Assuming it being a normal “world” again.

They did a couple of times when Radio Sport didn’t have capacity to commentate Warriors/Kiwis internationals due to Olympics/Comm Games, but I suspect it’s a thing of the past now, yep.

Only the TX site in Floraville got kyboshed as the tower was illegally constructed.
The licence for 90.5 is still valid, up to 2HD as to whether they want to go ahead and do it the RIGHT way this time. I get the feeling they’ll just cut their losses and not bother with it now.

You’ll be fine - first round in, you’ll get back into the swing of things. It’s like riding a bike - once you learn, you’ll never lose the skill. Unless you’re me and you never had the balance. 
Jim certainly brings an enthusiasm to the call that is missing sometimes from other calls.

It’d be close to it I reckon, are 2HD allowed to divert from the network to take other games? Then they could possible take the majority of knights games.

I like the fact in Sydney that 2SM has a different call team to the 1170 call. Much better than AFL (when I have tuned in) it appears to be the same team. Gives more choice rather than just the same thing on two frequencies. When the game is in Sydney, I think NRL Nation is mostly from the studio? I am not sure didn’t listen long enough to be sure.

I’m slightly embarrassed to say this - but it shows how much attention I pay to the competition - I just assumed 2HD always did. I thought we were battling them and the ABC every week!
Never mind - we’ve done a great IV with Wayne Pearce on Sunday about Mitch’s 300th game… on air at 3.20 and the IV will run around 3.25ish.
