Nova Network

I’m the same. It drops out walking to the bus stop. It drops out once in the same spot every day on the bus. It drops out twice (maybe three times) on the train trip into/out of the city. Every day and in the same spots.

Add the number of other times you can disconnect and it becomes impossible to listen.

Couldn’t agree more, it’s beyond annoying. Doesn’t help it’s the same ad over and over and over again. And for so many people listening to the radio, the channel surf frequently, I know I do when the ads come on, or a song I don’t want to listen to. As a result, I’ve un-favourited Nova on my RadioApp. Used to be my easily most listened to station, but now I’m finding hit107 not that bad.

I used to listen to the radio through my old ipod and only started using the radio apps on my phone because I was lazy recharging my ipod and phone every day. I don’t know if that would still work. I’m already frustrated by the repetitive music and ready to ditch Nova over this and only listen to their podcasts.

Another odd thing I’ve noticed with Radio App is that it sometimes seems to default to KIIS when you start it up, before you have even clicked on a station. I even tried removing KIIS and 2Day from my favourites to stop it but it still happens? It’s like KIIS is controlling the Radio App functions. Why would it do that?

FiveAA Adelaide has an ad when you connect as well, very annoying. (it is also owned by Nova Entertainment).

I have a similar issue with Radio App, mine defaults to Bay 93.9, it must default to the first listed local station in your area.

Yes. It’s an epic fail. At a time when they can’t afford to be losing listeners, this a really stupid move from Nova.

I reported the issue to Radio App because they had been promoting the fact that you can listen to your favourite radio stations on Radio App without native ads.

They investigated and sent me an email. They said it was Nova who has implemented this and it’s beyond their control.

Looks like Nova might have listened and removed those native adverts as of yesterday. Made a massive difference already. :tada:

Dig into the source code, find the stream URL and see what difference that makes?

Can we please keep Troy Ellis on the morning shift instead of Greg Burns?

Agree. He has been great over the last few weeks and I’ve been listening more while he’s been on.

Email Paul Jackson to let him know.

As good as he is, IMO he sounds way too old for Nova. Better fit for Smooth

Well, Greg Burns sounds like he would be a better fit for Capital FM.

Josiah finished up with Fitzy & Wippa this morning. He starts Hit 96.9 breakfast on Wednesday morning.

I wonder who will replace him as F&W’s panel op - he was a great fit with the team and a gun on the panel.

He said he starts in Shepparton on Monday. They mentioned the new guy this morning and they spoke to him a couple of days ago. I think they said his name is Lenno but not sure.

It’s amusing this Josiah bloke is panel op on Sydney bfast then to further his career, motors off to a different state to a different network.

Long gone are the well funded days of Nova with local drive, nights, late nights and middawns.

Nova could’ve retained Josiah and worked his way through one of many slots if the network was properly resourced.

Nova 96.9 have announced something different starting this morning, Greatest Hits Work Day starting this morning from 9am.

Will SCA be on the phone to them since they have ripped off the positioner of their regional adult network!!

Greatest’s Hits workday looks to be across the whole network starting this morning at 9am Throwbacks gone off all stations. They seem to play a new song then an much older song.
Nova 106.9 have brought back the 100min marathon.
Will Friday feels be back this Friday??
Will Nova 106.9 and 93.7 persist with Throwback Thursday??

Obviously these changes are to counter program 2Day Fm / WS
