Both of these are a problem for Nova. Too many rubbish throwbacks and too repetitive with the new music.
They need a wider playlist. More new stuff like 2Day and different throwbacks to what they’re incessantly playing now.

I don’t mind these two artists but I don’t have a favourite song of Sabrina’s after “Taste”, which turns one year old next month. Alex Warren is great.
From memory, I heard “Black and Gold” by Sam Sparro and “Say My Name” by Destiny’s Child on Nova 91.9 on New Year’s Day 2022, while on holidays in Adelaide. This, I believe, is where the throwbacks began filtering into their playlist.
Nova is obsessed with that song.
Good old 2008
According to The Australian’s Media Diary, Kate Ritchie should be finally returning to Nova’s Breakfast show, with insiders reporting that she was seen back at work and sitting in on production meetings at the radio station in Sydney for the first time again last week.
That’s good to hear. That she’s well and recovering.
Interesting to see & hear Nova creating more podcasts.
As a spin-off from the Fitzy and Wippa with Kate Ritchie show, they’ve had the “Nova Prod Pod” for a while now which is basically the producers from the show giving you a behind the scenes look at the show’s production and what has happened in the past week. It features Oli, Lizzie, Jess, Chae and Maddie. They have also been inviting Fitzy, Wippa and Executive Producer Tom to be part of it most weeks.
Now, producers Jess and Chae also have their own show on Nova on Sunday nights, so they also have an additional podcast. At the moment it’s branded as the Fitzy and Wippa with Kate Ritchie Producers Podcast.
Meanwhile, Tim Blackwell also has a newish podcast with Joe Hildebrand called “Four the Record” which features four probing questions about major news stories.
Ben, Liam & Belle also do a 5 minute true crime podcast. Jase & Lauren’s producers also have a weekly pod.
Jase, Lauren and Clint Stanaway will broadcast live from Victoria’s Mount Buller this Thursday (July 24).

Once The Fox annual pilgrimage. Now Nova100’s.
Once Sun FM’s annual pilgrimage…
…and once known originally as the Pilgram’s unsponsored annual pilgrimage
Adding to speculation about changes to Nova Sydney in 2026. Fitzy and Wippa were talking about all the celebrities they have interviewed over the years.
Fitzy said he is going to miss this but Wippa replied it’s not over. Fitzy went on to say that their contracts are up at the end of the year and they may not be renewed.
So, either he’s revealing what is being discussed behind the scenes or he’s ready to move on.
Was it this morning?? That’s such sad news for the both of them plus with Kate Richie.
Yes it was today. At the start of this podcast.
Molly Rose is the new EP for Ben, Liam and Belle late drive show. According to Radio Today, she joined Nova in February this year, working as a producer for Jodie and Haysey on Nova 919 in Adelaide.

Jungle drums are ringing…
I hope they send me a commission for this story after I flagged the comments here on Media Spy yesterday.
Kate still not on air after close to a year…something has to give soon surely. It will look terrible if they sack her but she should look at walking away if she can’t commit.
She was actually on air until December last year. She didn’t return January as planned..
