Which is funny considering their playlist is mostly throwbacks from the nineties and noughties which 2WS play now. ![]()
i donât see how this converts to listeners tuning in. It tells me nothing about Novaâs on-air offering.
I like how theyâve designed the campaign to fit a Nova brand from⌠22 years ago.
This would have to be their worst advertising campaign ever.
Theyâve had some of the best outdoor campaigns promoting their on-air talent over the years. Donât fix what isnât broken:
This Nova stuff is way worse.
I didnât mind that H! logo on the van. That giant exclamation on the banners didnât look good though.
I like the new campaign. It ties the brand back to the original âsounds differentâ branding which posts on here constantly say Nova needs to go back. The billboards you shared would have to be some of the most sterile ads theyâve had, targeted will above their target audience.
The thing with Nova at the moment though is that they are currently at one of their most successful points as a whole network, but theyâre not great with consistency across their brand. They have edgy younger skewing shows mixed in with safer middle-aged mom content. Is the on air sound going to change to match this campaign? The network is full of great elements, but they donât necessarily all work well together.
not gonna lie, it looks fresh, but AT THE SAME TIME, also has that âhow do you do, fellow kidsâ energy
This sums it up perfectly.
As mentioned in a recent Melbourne Radio Wars podcast, a station such as 2Day needs to show its âattitudeâ if theyâre going down the whole, âAFâ road. Similarly, with Nova.
This âattitudeâ shown in their latest campaign tells me that if I tune into their station, Iâll hear edgy content, rebellious announcers and likely the latest, hottest, freshest hits.
It is clearly targeting at the Today AF campaign.
The difference here, and the weakness here for Nova, is once a person tunes into the station, they donât get what they see in these ads.
Does spray paint on ads really reflect Chrissie Swan? Or breakfast shows that feature announcers much older than this target demo?
Apart from Ben, Liam & Belle, Novaâs current new campaign completely does NOT reflect Novaâs current on-air strategy.
Itâs as if the person who made the ads, doesnât even listen to Nova. Probably Spotify.
Most of Nova is pushing 50, but also spray paint GFX? Itâs just so dated and try hard to appeal to younger people with that rubbish. Not to mention it isnât clear right away what the ads are for, itâs confusing mess.
Screams âtry hardâ to me.
Nova 919 recently unveiled their new look studio, 5AA also got new studios.
Based on what I can see on social media I think the FIVEaa studios might still be a work in progress. It looks like FIVEaa are using the Nova studios at the moment, which isnât hard given the small amount of local output on Nova 919. The social media from early last week still shows the old FIVEaa studios (albeit with the new microphones which theyâve been using for a few weeks). I would guess that the redid the Nova studios first (Nova 919 has been broadcasting a boardroom the whole year until now) and will now start work on the FIVEaa studios.
Such a shame with the latest Nova campaign. Their website reflects/shows nothing about it. Their website style & presentation does not look ârebeliousâ or anything like a âdisruptorâ like its ad campaign features.
The same can be said about 2Day1041.
When you launch a new campaign, you launch a new campaign. Not just on-air and a few bus ads. But everywhere.
Hear! Hear!
Hear Hear
I was worried he was on a mental health spiral or something of the likes when he wasnât on air for 2 surveys. Thank god it was just a legal dispute and heâs alright and healthy
