good on nova for getting Mitch but just one show is odd. Also weird placement considering flagship breakfast shows are back tomorow and having him on today as a one off felt weird imo

Listening to the end of Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie this morning.
The show was running way over time and just finished at 9.15am. Kate Ritchie was missing. The reason wasnât mentioned in the last hour but may have been mentioned earlier.
She wouldnât work a second over her contracted hours

Iâm saying she wasnât there for the last hour (which was when I listened). I have heard them go past 9am before and thatâs not a problem for her.
However, she had been starting up to an hour later at the start. It must have been in her contract to start after 7am. Sometimes she turned up earlier and started earlier.
I will listen to the podcast and see if there was any mention about where she was.
ETA: No sign of Kate on the show today and no mention of her in the bits on the podcast.

I listened from 7am today. Chrissie was a breath of fresh air and they had a lot of fun together.
No mentions of Kate missing but they might have addressed it at the start. This has happened before. Once it was because Kate had been sick and another time it was because Kate had a scheduled longer holday break. Itâs odd that they choose not to mention her when they are usually so open but there could be a personal reason which is not easy to mention.
If Kate ever did leave, they could do worse than Chrissie.
But Chrissie left Breakfast radio because dhe didnât want to do early mornings any more.
Didnât Sam Pang want to leave and the powers that be decided to end the show?
They did announce Chrissie, Sam & Browny quitting the show together but maybe Sam was the trigger. Sam left Nova completely but Chrissie was announced as the afternoon host at the same time. Browny did Nova podcasts.

Sure. At least thatâd free-up afternoons for Ben, Liam & Belle to go earlier - and allow Mitch Churi to host early evenings prior to Smallzy.
Kateâs instagram story has shared the FW&K story promoting something huge coming on Thursday at 8am (with a cricket theme), so it appears that Kate is still part of the show. My guess would be sheâs either got an extra week of holiday or is sick (which is more likely since they were able to organise Chrissie for today but not yesterday).
At the start of todayâs podcasr, Wippa mentioned Kate will be back on Monday.

I understand when things go on, you canât help it.
But in a major radio market like Sydney, you need brekkie announcers who show up, from start to finish (not 7am) and are consistent for listening routines and branding.
If Kate cannot commit, then just keep her as a regular guest - and again, just revert to Fitzy and Wippa as the show name.

Fitzy and Wippa also take an extra weekâs holiday during the year and Kate works 6-9 those weeks.
Sam Pang did 7-9 in Melbourne when Chrissie and Browny did 6-9.
