Been a long time since I last used the Nova website. Used to be station-specific. Even the “Shows” menu is a list of all local and national shows.
I’m not sure it’s even correct. It appears Aaron Rich’s name is there just to fill gaps.
Does he really do 5-6am nationally after doing 10-12am?
Not hard to do if it is voice-tracked
Aaron Rich is the voice track extraordinaire who voice tracks all gaps in the schedule and fills in for anyone taking leave.
I think theyre pushing people to the Nova app now. The website is more a formality.
Do they really play highlights of all the local breakfast shows overnight?
@crankymedia What’s so funny?
Listening to the Jase and Lauren podcast, they’ve got some of their old producers coming from KIIS. They’re currently sitting out their non-compete clauses and will start it about 7 weeks, which lines up to around the start of May.
In the meantime they’ve got a couple of staff on both Jase & Lauren and Ben, Liam & Belle.
Do we think Jase and Lauren will go right through Easter?
I think so. They’ve been on a long break since November so it’s not like they’d be doing extra.
So Nova throughout Australia will continue to sound like Capital in the UK.
Sigh.
These are quite good, up-beat and with energy. Also interesting that they bringing back the old tag line from 2011 - “Nova. Love Music”.
Ben, Liam and Belle look as if they are the succession plan for Ricki Lee, Tim & Joel.
They spoke to Jaz Keane on the podcast today, he’ll be joining the show in the coming weeks.
It sounds like they will be off over Easter.
A song by Shinedown, “A Symptom of Being Human”, received airplay on Smallzy’s Surgery at 8:10pm this evening.
They are better known for their 2009 song “Second Chance”, which charted in the top 20 in Australia.
Also played on Nova 100 this morning. Maybe Nova have decided to add it to their playlist a year after it was released.
It’s typical of some Australian radio stations to add songs to their playlists long after they were released.
Classic example - “Shut Up and Dance” by Walk the Moon was released in September 2014, yet didn’t attract the attention of Australian stations until April/May the following year.
Just played again around 2:15pm. Not the typical song you would hear on Nova, but it is a great song and good to hear something different on Nova.
