It’s typical of some Australian radio stations to add songs to their playlists long after they were released.
Classic example - “Shut Up and Dance” by Walk the Moon was released in September 2014, yet didn’t attract the attention of Australian stations until April/May the following year.
They did play “Paralyzer” by Finger Eleven (a Canadian rock band with a harder/stronger sound than Nickelback) at the height of that song’s popularity in 2008.
Wouldn’t be surprised if they played that song again as a throwback.
Ben, Liam and Belle talked about the new track on late drive last night and “had a look through the Nova system” and found one or two older Shinedown tracks. Interesting.
Also of note:
There is now a 7pm national news bulletin after the traffic, complete with Michelle opening with “good afternoon” on occasion.
Still having issues on weekends and after drive with the sponsor bed from the previous package airing instead of new one. Not client related as I’ve heard ads playout by mistake without a bed in the past, so must be carted separately.
I hope they are. So is everyone at Nova’s show only 2 hours? Of course breakfast is longer but it has a similar schedule to a community radio station ha! Can’t wait to hear the Pubjab Radio show on Nova soon.
Not always, possibly on occasion. I think she just gets messed up with time zones having to record a local bulletin for each state every hour through drive
Well it’s not as bad as 2Day FM were at one stage, it was a mess of a drive schedule with Carrie & Tommy from 3-4:30pm and then Hughesy and Ed from 4:30-6pm. A great way to confuse listeners!
Yes, I thought it was a strange decision to do a countdown of all these throwbacks. These countdowns are what you hear on 2WS or Smooth.
After all the good work they’ve done to have more Fresh Music and restarting Nova Nation, this seems like backwards step to being a “Hits and Memories” or “Throwbacks” station.
Has this changed? Michelle’s arvo bulletins use to be national hence why weather was read in traffic on Nova 969 and they had traffic reporters in some other markets. I could be wrong and she’s gone back to local bulletins
