Have not seen a 9Go! show advertised for a while, has WIN stop this as well?.. So much for working more with Nine to work together as one.

Was in WIN-land 5 days ago, and 9Go! branding was being used.

Article in The Australian discussing Southern Cross’s share price includes the following

Nine’s recently struck affiliation deal with WIN Corporation saw it reap the equivalent of 47 per cent of WIN’s TV revenue, as revealed by The Australian, which is up from 39 per cent in the previous deal.

It means the potential upside for Nine from switching Southern Cross’ regional TV signal to its own — from Ten Network’s signal — has been diminished.

Some more revelations from The Australian regarding WIN’s affiliation deal.

Billionaire media proprietor Bruce Gordon agreed to a secret payment from a private investment company to top up fees paid by WIN Corporation to its metropolitan TV affiliate partner Nine Entertainment Co.

It’s understood an additional payment from Mr Gordon’s Birketu investment firm to Nine was critical to getting a deal over the line, with WIN continuing to pay 39 per cent of its revenues in the six-month agreement.

However, Nine has also agreed to invest in WIN’s marketing and news services as part of the deal, which would reduce the effective affiliation rate.

Still no clarification on what the news tie in means.

The most obvious efficiencies would be making a combined WIN/Nine Canberra operation.

Gold 2 is now Extra, did not see that one coming!

You knew something we didn’t

The Extra ident was shown, so i guess WIN is now broadcasting Extra.

According to there web site that would be a definite 'yep"

The website also says Extra:

broadcasts infomercials as well as home shopping, religion, community, educational and multi-cultural programming.

Maybe the first two…

Funny the Gold page is still there as well.

So Gold2 is now Extra? That’s a bit if a shock. Wonder why the change.

Is it possible that WIN has to carry EXTRA as part of it’s new affiliation agreements? Or maybe Nine is paying WIN to carry the channel?

In any case, hopefully this is a sign that WIN might carry 9Life and/or a primary HD channel in the not too distant future!

You think WIN would be trying to have a HD channel by the start of the NRL season but who knows what will happen.

It’s still named GOLD 2 and on LCN 82 here. Same elsewhere?

Same here just the top right corner has the extra watermark now.

Maybe the agreement if deeper than what’s publicly known? Might be some sort of prerequisite for Nine to purchase WIN is that WIN need to get their channels in line with Nine so Nine don’t have to spend extra in getting a regional network converted?

What would the LCNs for WIN look like anyway once 9 life and WIN HD are up and running.

The LCN for 82 is now Extra

Yes I can confirm this. But gold is still on 84. Maybe it’s going to be the 9life channel on 84 on WIN?
