Yep, pretty much just like those - personally I feel not necessary but if they’re insisting on keeping the WIN brand alive whilst still providing a Nine dirty feed and keeping the Nine brand prominent then this fits the brief perfectly.
Still interested to see how they will brand NRN however (assuming WIN doesn’t try to sell it)
Seven/Nine/WIN in SA all have WIN network idents on their channels, but only the main WIN (Ten) channel identifies as WIN. WIN may choose to do the same and keep NRN branded as WIN, or just re-brand it as Ten and still run WIN idents? Don’t think we’ve seen this possible scenario since WIN SA was affiliated with Seven (and WIN was affiliated Nine elsewhere, including Adelaide/Perth)
Ideas © for WIN promos ahead of 1 July - “Welcome Home” or “Welcome Back” (Welcome Back Kotter theme comes to mind ) that is if they make a big deal out of it at all.
So let me get this straight. When WIN returns to being a Nine affiliation, will the WIN watermark be retired on air, and will only be used for WIN News?
Nobody knows!! It hasn’t happened yet. The whole thing only got announced yesterday.
That’s my joke and you know it!
It will be interesting to see how much promotion of the Nine brand that WIN does off air.
As here in Northern NSW, there is very little promotion of the Nine brand externally… eg. all the signage at the football, sponsorship of events etc… it is nearly always “NBN News”, hardly ever any Nine signage.
If the WIN brand is no longer going to be used as their primary channel identification, I don’t see why their 10 affiliation in NNSW will be any different. It’s obviously going to be like the rest of the WIN channels.
Currently it seems that 10 produces the majority of WIN’s promos for them - just slightly modified 10 ones - using the circle WIN logo instead of 10’s etc. Not sure how cost-effective it would be for WIN to get 10 to continue to do that and if they would be prepared to for NRN.
does anyone happen to know the analogue channel number for WOW?
There were various ones depending on where you were…
I have a feeling Bunbury may have been UHF-39.
And I think Kalgoorlie was VHF-11.
the information I can’t find is, where was WOW based at??
It was originally based at Ten’s Perth studios. At the time WIN had a rather frosty relationship with STW9’s owner, Sunraysia Television so it based WOW at Ten’s studios.
Really???
So what would have been the closest analogue transmission of there’s have been?
That’s the one thing I can’t seem to find?
Probably the one at Mawson (Central Agricultural).
How will the new deal affect Regional WA? Will WIN continue broadcasting Network 10 programming in that area or does West Digital Television have to jump over hurdles to lock in a 10 affiliation?
exactly
I’m pretty sure they had todo something like that before the switch as well.
