Nine (WIN)

What WIN Needs to do from July is to set up a YouTube Page under WIN9News to allow those to upload their 12 Regional News Bulletins each Weeknight after they air.

The Nine brand is not going away.
The main channel is remaining as Nine.
WIN will sometimes place “You’re watching Channel 9 on WIN Wagga” for example as pop ups. Similar to what they did on the Nine multichannels before the affiliation swap in 2016.

Maybe they could simply add the “ON WIN” text to appear beneath the Nine watermark during shows? Similar to how Nine currently have “nine.com.au” text.

Just replace the WIN brand with Nine. Get rid of it. Have Nine around the country

Along with WIN News remaining. But the overall WIN branding is slowly diminishing.

Bruce’s ego won’t allow it.

I think the best way to integrate Nine/WIN branding during programming is like how US Networks/Affiliates do it PRG from network, few seconds of the affiliate logo, and then the network logo, example below:

I like this too. Imagine the solid WIN map animating in like it usually does, pauses for 3 seconds, then flips over to the dirty 9 PRG logo flying in. Perfect.

I’m still amazed at the number of posts about the impending affiliation swap, also given a lot of members on here can’t receive WIN or Southern Cross.

Also, the more regional networks mirror their metro cousins, the less we will have to discuss on here!

A lack of diversity in TV presentation isn’t always a good thing.

Or just do what NBN does with their watermark and replace it with WIN?

That being said, I don’t think WIN branding is going to go into hiding as much as some may think - won’t know until it kicks off however

WIN have always done their “part of the WIN Network” ads and I’d expect them to continue and they can co-exist with the Nine branding. All they need is something that says like “You’re watching Channel Nine on the WIN Network. Australia’s largest regional television network” and have the map of Australia with their territory and all the Nine channels and WIN logo. Job done, still Nine branding but keeping the WIN brand name out there to be synonymous with WIN News and to show the affiliation part.

would be a nice retro thing todo that

with the old callsigns of those areas.

They could always do the god-awful “We Love It” crap that 9 NNSW and Darwin subjects its viewers to.

Gives them a bit of local ownership and they can brand it 9 | WIN

They’ve got a very extensive library of content via Crawford’s, but given the demographic, there’d be more money in flogging their beloved 75-disc box sets to nursing homes than from putting it on a subscription streaming service.

Perfect!
Nine dirty feed for all programming and a few of these ads chucked in and that would be the perfect affiliation in my opinion.

It’s been stopped in Darwin now. Too many complaints.

They’ve replaced the slots with Nine Digital Direct promos.

Complaints about?

Expect these to be dusted off and have the channel logos updated, perhaps
