6am.
What is it with WIN TV and The Hunt. So many promos for a show that doesn’t even have an airdate. Multiple promos each night including prime spots in the news.
Has Anyone else checked channel 80 yet. I’m in Merimbula and Gem went off air and now it’s WINhd.
Don’t think it’s 6am. Gem went blank and then the Oscars appeared on it.
The WIN website has been updated, saying WINHD and 9Life are now available.
Also of interest WA Viewers Please Note: Due to technical requirements, the new channels will be delayed until Tuesday the 8th of March.
.No doubt related to VAST. At least now the WA section of the website has actual information. Still running the coming soon versions of the HD and 9Life promos tonight.
I think WIN’s settings might be wonky at the moment - even with a full reset, there’s no LCNs and the channels are going into the 350-399 range.
Observations:
- WIN HD has same ads as WIN SD
- WIN HD has ads in HD
- 9 Life is showing as “Starts 6AM”
- No watermark on GEM (same programmer via Nine has watermark)
- Subchannels don’t have 9 in their name (i.e.they’renamed GEM Illawarra, LIFE and Go! Illawarra)
- Go! is very jittery and jumpy at the moment (not a local reception problem as other WIN channels are fine and TV is showing 10/10 for signal quality and strength)
Edit: Looking at TSReader, I can confirm there’s no NIT being transmitted at the moment (which provides the LCN details).
Same here, Gem included.
Video bitrates at the moment with a five-minute sample:
WIN HD: 5.87 Mbps (MPEG-4 with 448 kbps AC3 audio)
WIN SD: 4.07 Mbps
Go!: 3.06 Mbps
Gem: 3.91 Mbps
Extra: 0.55 Mbps (MPEG-4)
Gold: 1.74 Mbps (MPEG-4)
Life: 0.6 Mbps (MPEG-4 currently just a still slide, so it will probably go up when it starts at 6am)
Nulls: 0.78 Mbps
Most number of channels I’ve ever seen on a single transponder. Life will “suck the life” out of the others when it starts up…
Just now before the All-Australian News started, WIN HD and WIN SD ran two identical PSAs. WIN HD then went to the All-Australian News but WIN SD showed another (third) PSA before going to the news. When the Oscars were showing, the ads were the same and WIN SD was about 1 or 2 seconds behind, but right now WIN SD is maybe 30 seconds behind because of the extra PSA. Weird.
Edit: GEM (in SD) just ran a promo for “Nature in HD on GEM”
GEM is showing in the wrong resolution its smaller then 4:3 ratio. Also on WIN HD I get the win all Australian logo on 81 and 8 the letter n is cut off.
Definitely something wrong with the transition to WIN HD here in Townsville.
I’ve just retuned the TV and found:
80 - LCN Name: GEM - broadcasting WIN HD.
81 - LCN Name: WIN - broadcasting WIN SD.
83 - LCN Name: GO! - broadcasting GEM.
85 - Coming Soon slide
86 - Coming Soon slide
88 - LCN Name: GO! - broadcasting GEM.
The test slide channels are still found.
There’s no new LCN82 listed.
GEM is currently broadcasting on LCN83 & 88
GO not broadcasting at all.
Also, as others have reported WIN HD is about 20-30 seconds ahead of WIN SD.
Give it a few minutes - we had that set up for a while down here with WIN HD in MPEG 2 but then it all went to black and came back with the new LCNs
Rescanned again…
80 - LCN: GEM - broadcasting WIN HD
81 - LCN: WIN - broadcasting WIN SD
82 - LCN: Extra - broadcasting Extra
83 - LCN: GO! - broadcasting GEM
84 - LCN: Gold - broadcasting Gold
85 - coming soon slide
86 - coming soon slide
88 - LCN: GO! - broadcasting GEM.
Not sure if it makes a difference, but we are currently having a massive thunderstorm here in Townsville tonight right as the change over has been taking place.
Guess I was wrong about Tasmania getting these channels … absolutely nothing happened! No HD or 9Life!
Looks like thats all we will get in tassie is the promos…nothing has changed here in hobart
