Actually, is 2 X SDI and 1 X HDSDI down the one pipe. Hence why SD at the WIN end looks like bad youtube quality and HD is a blocky pixelated mess. Stingy is one word for it. The PQ of NINE content on WIN had been very much noticed at NINE and was no doubt one of many contributing factors to NINE affiliating with SCA instead in the major regional markets.

It started out great but in the weeks leading up to 1 July it was a real mess. Was this the case in all markets?

I think to try and compensate for the low bitrate, they apply some sort of sharpening (unsharp mask), which only makes it look even worse, giving everything halos and increasing blockiness.
I love that solution, or do what PRIME7 does here in Newcastle from time to time and have the weather graphics with that music playing.
Ooh, those Prime7 weather updates with music only makes me cringe a little.
Seems a bit cheap when it should really have a presenter or voice over narrating it.

I’ve just returned home to Townsville today after a 2 week holiday.
Not surprisingly, my non-retuned TV has the LCNs incorrect.
All SCA channels have gone onto the correct LCNs automatically.
But WIN is showing
80: WIN HD
8/81: WIN
82: ELEVEN
83: ONE
84: WIN NETWORK
85: TVSN
86: GOLD
88: ONE
There has to be A LOT of TVs across Regional Australia using the wrong LCNs after this change!

Watching NCIS wins watermarks in the circle unlike other shows where the circle dissapears its a solid watermark i thinks more better

They had a dirty feed during NCIS and were covering up the Ten watermark underneath.

[/quote]Yep. I caught a glimpse of the Ten watermark underneath it just as they went to an ad-break. I sure hope this is just some sort of error and WIN don’t continue to get a dirty feed from Ten, otherwise we know WIN will continue using this or another solid coverup again.
