One thing WWOS does so well - world class openers. Big, bold theme under the intro package.

Coverage feels fresh. The power of Nine coming to the fore here and they’ll do a decent job. Already feeling better than Fox.
This would probably be the first product to come out of the larger production studio at 9HQ in North Sydney.

Just noticed when 9Gem went to an ad-break, the Stan Sport coverage continued through with an Liam Knight interview and some additional analysis from the panel.
If that’s what’s going to happen whenever there’s a TV ad-break, rugby fans are going to get a lot of value out of Stan Sport.

Sky went to a break when Nine did.
We started with the Tim Horan/Allana Ferguson/Drew Mitchell opener (which I presume was the start).
There’s no Stan/Nine DOG on the NZ feed.

Be interesting to see if it continues (especially when the number of games increase when the TT tournament starts and the games are pretty well back to back)

True - although that is going to require a 2-way travel bubble at this stage. NZ looking at a third round of Super Rugby Aotearoa as back-up.

I like Nine’s coverage. Much better than Fox.
- Their graphics are clean and sharp.
- Good to see some matches being streamed on 9Now for free.
- Good to have Roz Kelly back at Nine after spending 7 years at Channel 10. Roz Kelly was previously at 10 where she covered the RWC2019 in Japan.
- As well, the Rugby Union is also shown on 9GEM in HD.

Looks like the Perth game will be called from an “interactive” studio off a monitor as they crossed to a commentary box. Obviously necessary given the nonsense with WA borders.

I think netball will regret not having this level of coverage by not going with 9.
Kayo might have free sections but people just want their free coverage on the TV to flick between channel.
Fox and 9 are offering two very different propositions and nine are showing the future of sport. Streaming (the number 2 platform in Australia behind Netflix) plus free to air.

When the L3 graphics pop up, Nine’s WWOS logo appears and on Stan, theirs does.
Love the fact they are producing different graphic packages tailored to each broadcaster. That level of detail must be tricky for the director and his team.
So far, this has been excellent.
