Nine aired a Super Rugby match tonight on Nine in Sydney - with the NSW Waratahs v ACT Brumbies match. Coverage was scheduled to finish at 9.45pm, and it finished right on time. Take that, AFL and NRL! lol.

It’s good to air this game on the main channel tonight. Give it some exposure. Especially since Jeopardy Australia has been performing poorly. No harm in trying something different.

Good to see Nine airing a match on the main channel

Stan Sport did a special program regarding the closure of the Melbourne Rebels this evening, a one-hour in-depth coverage of the closure. A fantastic show and did a really good job at explaining what happened at the Rebels.

The FTA match is Brumbies v Highlanders this Saturday night from Canberra.

Should be the Rebels match

Why?

Last ever match? But the Brumbies game is the only local one so it makes sense.

I guess - but they have probably the worst chance of any Aussie sides this weekend.

And one of the reasons they’re going is no one cares about them.

Who said it was the last?

I hope not for sure!

Super Rugby Pacific 2024 semi-finals fixture

Friday, June 14
Blues v Brumbies (Eden Park, Auckland, 7.05pm NZT / 5.05pm AEST)

Saturday, June 15
Hurricanes v Chiefs (Sky Stadium, Wellington, 4.35pm NZT / 2.35pm AEST)

Nine had previously scheduled the FTA telecast for the Saturday semi-final. It may now move the telecast to the Friday, given the Brumbies are now the only Australian team left.

On the Wide World Of Sports program this morning, they had a graphic showing they will be covering the Friday afternoon game. It was quick, so i didn’t see the start time.

Did Stan do it’s own call or did they take the Sky NZ call with Tony Johnson, Mils Muliaina and Jeff Wilson for the Brumbies game?

Stan did its own call of Blues v Brumbies, based on the video highlights on Stan Sport’s YouTube channel.
