Let this be a lesson to other networks, buy sports rights, do it all within your networks and boom! Keep sharing with Fox, than expect lower ratings.
Sales team at nine, will be happy to have easier conversation with sponsors after these numbers.

Many of us including yourself have been saying this for years. They all got fooled by fox.
Nines NRL ratings for the home and away games are woeful and they’re really high in fox. Stupid deal.
Although Nine do deserve low ratings for home/away season NRL matches, remembering how horrendously they treated the game (in terms of live coverage, etc.) for so many years.
Interesting they provide no numbers of how many watched on Stan Sport
Doesnt help that Nine’s coverage is terrible too (Fox can be hit and miss). People are seeking out what they deem to be the “better” quality product
More people watch Fox League than Nine for NRL games
You do realise that the NRL Commission, made up of all teams, had to sign off on the last deal?
They wouldn’t accept a deal without Fox’s involvement as many clubs were propped up by News Corp or owned by them. If Fox wasn’t involved, there would be no competition.
Another reason this whole “super league” bullshit came about in the mid 90s.
So the whole independent commission is a joke and the NRL is still beholden to fox.
Fox need to lose the rights for the good of the NRL.
While they’re the one putting in the majority of the cash into the rights, its hard to see things changing.
But no one else is given a go. When streaming can make a bid then maybe. Fox sports really needs to be dismantled.
It’s the free market not Secret Santa where everyone gets a gift.
As Bacco said, sports rights dictate the Foxtel model so of course they are going to bid more - their model suffers if they miss out on rights. The FTAs have blended models where they can pay a certain amount for sport but rarely get exclusivity.
Oh shit, I ended up with Lithuanian Volleyball in the last SS
‘Fooled’ is one way of putting it. Another way is various sports did what they thought would be/is in their ‘best’ interests (namely from a financial perspective).
We can argue until the cows come home (and then some) about whether getting maximum exposure or maximising the rights fee should be the main consideration for sports leagues. However, that weighing up of what’s more important will be different for each sport/competition.
Others aren’t even allowed to hid. That’s what I meant. It’s actually a false market with things tied up before an actual bidding war.
Why does Fox need to lose the rights when there doing a good job at covering the game as it is? Sorry but I don’t really get what you’re saying…
Bacco is running Sports Flick confirmed
I told you that in confidence
Fairly sure me publishing that counts as defaming your character.
9Gem is scheduled to show the first match of Bledisloe Cup series from Auckland on this day - if both Australian and NZ teams were granted exemptions from both governments to travel back and forth across the ditch, due to the two-month suspension of the Trans-Tasman travel bubble.
Stan was having some trouble with Tonga vs Cook Islands game yesterday. I thought it was just me that was buffering and having issues but nearly 500 comments on their FB say it was a widespread issue. The issue was fixed around half time
Bledisloe Cup game one will go ahead as scheduled, after the New Zealand Government granted the Wallabies the necessary exemption on economic benefit grounds to cross the Tasman Sea, however the dates for the next two games (which also count as Rugby Championship matches) are now up in the air.
