This would be great if it happens then you don’t need a betting account or Foxtel to watch it. Plus it would finally be in HD.
Sadly, Paul Lang Youtube Channel does not have the Full Seven Debut Melbourne Cup Carnival Coverage from 2002 and instead it mostly featured delayed Sky coverage. But, you can still enjoy the full 10 coverage of all 4 days of the Carnival for the several years well into 2001 as well as Nine’s Sydney Autumn Carnival Coverage and Melbourne October Carnival Coverage from the 1990s.
And to add, the 1998 Magic Millions Carnival was shown on Nine then exclusively on Seven from 1999-2001 before returning to Seven in 2015.
I’ve always touted the Magic Millions coverage on Seven from 1999-2001 as a precursor to 17 sensational years of broadcasting the Melbourne Cup as Pat Welsh, Richard Freedman as well as the late Wayne Wilson all featured on the coverage.

Market variations here:
Because it’s a live stream in a non-broadcast quality lit arena.
Supercars next TV rights deal heating up.
And the comments saying, this shouldn’t happen cause “I don’t want to pay for another streaming service”, that’s what a free market is.
That could be another sport going from Seven to Nine, should the latter network pick up the Supercars rights.
Nine has it’s all sports content. That’s extraordinary
At this rate soon Seven will just be left with the AFL, Athletics and the Cricket, and possibly Horse Racing if they can hold onto that one.
What’s stopping Nine from buy Foxte and merging it with Stan? That would give them all the rest and they could that to advantage themselves even more in the areas of sport.
Probably $$$$… I don’t think Nine has THAT much money.
That’s a mild surprise. Nine showed the Australian Super Touring Championship in the 1990s, that’s one category down from Supercars.
Supposed Nine gets the Supercars rights, it will have the issue of some races overlapping with the 4pm NRL game.
They have multi channels on that network. Why can’t they just moved it
They could show the main race on the main channel in the AFL states, and on 9Gem in Sydney and Brisbane (and vice versa).
100% this!
We are in the year 2024 not 1995, where this clash would have meant something.
Seven at the moment have AFL and Supercars and as a result, they have a clash for some rounds.
It just means that Seven place it on 7Mate for the clash moments. Sounds like an excuse from Murdoch press, to just scary a board into thinking Nine can’t show it.
Nine would just move it to 9Gem in the states where this is a clash.
Mentioned more than once in recent years Nine would probably be interested in the V8s, namely the Bathurst 1000. This years ratings still confirm it’s a drawcard and provides a massive lead-in to 6pm and prime time shows, not to mention the day’s reach with network promos and for advertisers. Things Nine lean towards very much.
But yes money and Foxtel’s incumbent proposition could be issues, the tour isn’t what it used to be in terms of weekly audience (say Seven’s vast FTA offerings with the 2007-2011 deal was it?) Though can’t imagine Supercars are that rapt with their current FTA (Seven) arrangement at all. Look at what Nine have done for TA, NRL, IOC, VRC, reinvigorated and turned into massive successes at least for themselves (Nine). How about another? And rub more salt into the wound with another former long-held Seven Sport taken.
I reckon this is legit and could go down to the wire!
