Swifts will take on Giants in the 2021 Suncorp Super Netball Grand Final in Brisbane next Saturday afternoon (August 28), after Giants edged out Fever by three points in the preliminary final yesterday.
As well as the link between the Giants’ netball and AFL teams, the Swans also have a close relationship with the Swifts, and there are fears eyeballs could be lured away from the Super Netball decider.
The Super Netball grand final broadcast is set to start at 2.30pm but will not actually begin until 3pm. The AFL clash is scheduled to kick off at 3.20pm.
Netball Australia is still working through plans to host England, which is due to travel to Australia after a series against the Silver Ferns in New Zealand.
The Diamonds will assemble when dates and locations for those games are confirmed.
Next year’s event will be held at Wollongong, from September 18 to 25. It’s only the second time the Road World Championships are held in Australia (first was Geelong in 2010).
This year’s race in Belgium will be on SBS Viceland and SBS on Demand from September 19 to 26.
