Still got the teams wrong…

That’s for next Saturday, August 8.

Bad start for the Netball coverage with Nine deciding to interrupt the coverage and take a media conference from Victoria along the east coast with the score at 47-49. The interruption continued so long that the end of the game wasn’t shown, nor the result given; viewers being told to go to Nine Now for the result. I can understand why Victoria took the full conference but there was no need to take more than the first few minutes for other areas.

Here is the result. Match highlights should be on Suncorp Super Netball website later this afternoon. The full match should be posted on 9Now by this evening.

Goggling the result isn’t quite the same as watching the end of the game for netball fans in NSW and QLD who instead had to watch hoping for a largely irrelevant news conference to end.

Nine still out here acting like they have one channel

Why didn’t they move it to Gem or Go?

Indeed. Or show some highlights and give the scores. It’s not like the 3pm program couldn’t have waited a few minutes.

If Nine couldn’t have had the netball either simulcasted on or moved to Gem/Go, they should have stayed with the match until it finished. From there, Victorian viewers could have left right on the final whistle to go to the press conference while everyone else stayed with the netball until the coverage ended. Those viewers could have afterwards had a ‘newsflash’ outlining the announcements made by Andrews

But if Nine stuck with the netball and didn’t take the conference, Nine runs the risk of getting criticized for for prioritizing sport over a state of emergency.

does every channel have to take something like a news conference where a state of emergency is being declared? nine could have stuck with the netball and no one would have noticed? Ir is a a situation like that a must interrupt situation?

The Round 2 and 3 SNN fixtures have been released. NO FTA MATCHES IN ROUND 3

Victoria has only declared a state of disaster twice since WW2: The bushfires this year and Sunday. I think its more important than a sports match. But I think 9 could have moved it (at least in Sydney) to 9Gem for the 3rd and 4th quarter, seeing as though they knew the conference was coming at 3:30.

Which means fans without Telstra TV subscription will have to watch the replay on 9Now the next morning, or video highlights at Super Netball website.

It’s a double standard. Seven didn’t interrupt the AFL, so why did Nine have to interrupt the netball for something like a state of emergency.

Seven didn’t air any AFL last Sunday in Victoria.

Exactly.

Re-read that sentence. Not a favourable argument.
