Because State of Emergency (or in Victoria’s case, disaster) is something that is more important than a netball match?
I would have to agree that a state of emergency should have precedence than a sporting event. Nine did the right hing.
They could have at least put it onto one of the other channels!!!
Suncorp Super Netball announced the fixture for rounds 4 to 6 this afternoon. Again there will be a whole round of matches which won’t be shown on FTA (Round 5, August 18-19).
Disgraceful from the Nine Network
2022 cannot come fast enough. Give it to Seven please
And how Seven will treat it better?
Ah yes, give it to Seven, who will have more sports to clash with and will bump it to 7Two in crystal clear 120p.
The only matches not being broadcast on 9 are Tuesday and Wednesday matches and the usual NRL clash.
Well- it won’t go to Ten won’t it? Channel Seven is the only other network that could have the rights now.
Anyway, the fact they won’t put any matches on mid week is disgraceful. It is still a round!
9 only show it because they are paid to. It’s not 9’s fault which matches they show. Telstra TV gets a certain number and 9 gets a certain number.
Considering Nine has been airing 3 games a weekend (rather than 2 like they have in previous seasons), Telstra TV showing all of the midweek games is probably needed to ensure they get enough games.
Fixture for Round 7 to 9 of Suncorp Super Netball was released last week. Round 7 (tomorrow and Wednesday, August 25-26) and Round 9 (September 1-2) will have no FTA coverage, three of four matches in Round 8 (August 29-30) will be shown live on Nine.
Also, two matches in Round 10 between Rounds 10 and 14 will played in Cairns and Townsville, with more details to be revealed later.
UPDATE 29/8:
Fixture for Round 10-12 was announced yesterday. Adelaide Thunderbirds will host three matches at home. Round 11 will be held midweek (September 8-9) and will have no FTA coverage.
Round 13 of Suncorp Super Netball season will be played in Townsville and Cairns, celebrating Indigenous Round. Three matches will be held at the Cairns Pop Up Arena, which (according to Austadiums website) is a temporary arena located in a former Bunnings Warehouse on Spence Street near Barlow Park, hosting basketball and netball while the Cairns Convention Centre is being redeveloped.
The 14th and final round will be held in Brisbane.
The 2020 Suncorp Super Netball finals start October 3 with the grand final on the afternoon of October 18 in Brisbane.
Major Semi Final Saturday 1pm Vixens v Lightning
Minor Semi Final Sunday 1pm Fever v Swifts
Next Sunday at 1pm AEDT is the preliminary final between Lightning and Fever.
West Coast Fever beat Sunshine Coast Lightning 73-59 in this afternoon’s preliminary final in front of a hostile home crowd, and will play Melbourne Vixens for the title next Sunday.
Looks like they haven’t resisted this year. Greyhound racing on the main channel this Friday immediately following the NRL
Nine are airing the dishlickers? That’s news to me!
