Nine Sports Broadcasting

They no money though. It could go to SBS or 10.

Aren’t 10 trying to get out of sport?

Yes and no. They are only bidding for sports when they see fit. An example of this, is the horse racing rights.

Like all the other FTA networks.

Suncorp Super Netball revealed the fixture for the first six rounds of the 2020 season yesterday (July 24), with matches to be split between Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Sydney. The season starts next Saturday (August 1) with the Queensland derby between the Queensland Firebirds and Sunshine Coast Lightning at Nissan Arena in Brisbane at 1pm AEST, followed by Giants Netball against West Coast Fever at Ken Rosewall Arena in Sydney at 3pm AEST.
The NSW Swifts and Giants Netball will play their first three matches in Sydney before joining the other six teams in the Queensland hub.

Just play the 12th Man’s Bill Lawry: This Is Your Life and be done with it.

Or make it into a 2 parter…one of Bill and the other on his nose.:laughing:

It’s based on last couple of seasons. Matches that were exclusively live on Telstra TV, were replayed on 9Gem at mid-mornings during the week, just to fill the daytime schedule. If Nine wants netball fans to see their idols in action, they should replay the Telstra TV matches at around 4pm.

This afternoon Super Netball announced changes to this weekend’s fixture as the result of Queensland border closure to Sydney residents. Giants Netball and NSW Swifts will play their derby in Brisbane rather than Sydney. The league will now review player health and welfare, load and travel requirements before announcing any further changes to rounds 2 to 6.

Don’t see much issue.

Firstly, how can the reviewer give a rating of anything let alone 2.5 stars on a line sporting event which hasn’t been played it aired yet?

Secondly the description is pretty ordinary and a bit of an unnecessary put down.

I reckon it’s a basketball fan who thinks netball needs to die in a horrible, horrible fire?

I can’t find any replay of Vixens v Magpies on 9Gem on the online guides for next week, so if you are a netball fan but don’t subscribe to Telstra TV or Netball Live app, you will have to log in to 9Now to catch up on the game.

Have you read anywhere that the fourth game will be available on 9Now?

Sunshine state sets scene for return of Super Netball season

A COVID-safe, condensed season of Suncorp Super Netball returns this Saturday LIVE and FREE from 1.00pm AEST and Sunday 1.00pm AEST on Nine and 9Now, with three games on Nine each weekend.

In a big win for women’s sport, the Queensland Government is supporting Australia’s premier netball competition, with most games scheduled in Brisbane, Cairns, Townsville and on the Sunshine Coast.

It will be a Sunshine State derby to open the season, with the Queensland Firebirds and Sunshine Coast Lightning on the court at Nissan Arena in Brisbane at 1.00pm on Saturday.

Following what promises to be an electrifying first game, at 3.00pm the Adelaide Thunderbirds then play the West Coast Fever at Nissan Arena.

Closing out a massive first round, on Sunday at 1.00pm in Brisbane the NSW Swifts face off against Giants Netball before the battle of the Victorians, when the Melbourne Vixens play the Collingwood Magpies at Nissan Arena at 5.00pm.

With 14 rounds scheduled to go ahead this season, Super Netball teams across the country will continue to navigate evolving health orders and state border restrictions. As the first six rounds are played, governments and key competition stakeholders will monitor the COVID-19 situation pending the next phase of play.

Once again, Nine has a stellar commentary lineup for all the action on and off-court. Former
Australian netball vice-captain Bianca Chatfield returns, alongside Collingwood netball and Women’s AFL star Sharni Layton.

Queensland’s golden girl of netball, Laura Geitz, who led the Firebirds to back-to-back premierships, will be on the sideline, bringing her expert comments to the coverage.

Joining them are these expert commentators: netball legends Liz Ellis, Cath Cox, Anne Sargent and Sue Gaudion, plus Nine’s Seb Costello and Tom Rehn.

Nine’s Director of Sport, Brent Williams, said: “We are excited to welcome Suncorp Super Netball back to our screens in 2020. Despite the economic and health challenges the last few months have posed to the game, we are gearing up for what is undoubtedly the greatest netball competition in the world.

“It has been a mammoth team effort on all fronts to get this season up and running. Wide World of Sports is proud to continue its partnership with Netball Australia, Telstra and Suncorp.”

Nine’s Head of Netball, Keeley Devery, said: “We are thrilled to finally have the fourth season of Suncorp Super Netball underway. All the energy, passion and flair that we’ve come to expect from these elite athletes will make for captivating viewing over the next nine weeks.”

Netball fans can follow their favourite teams and enjoy three live games a week on Nine with coverage starting at 1.00pm on Saturdays and 1.00pm on Sundays on both Channel Nine and 9Now.

Suncorp Super Netball will also be broadcast this year on Telstra TV and the Netball Live app.
