Nine Sports Broadcasting

I was aware of that too. But if Nine has livestreaming/digital rights for The Ashes, at least you’ll be able to watch it in 720p via the 9Now streams of 9Gem.

By the time we get to August 2019, the Ashes will more likely be exclusively on 9Gem. With Saturday Night NRL coming on Nine during that month, Nine will have to stagger their schedules.
FRIDAY
SYD/BNE: NRL on Nine, Ashes on 9GEM
MEL/ADE/PER: NRL on 9GO!, Ashes on 9GEM

SATURDAY
Sydney, Brisbane, Darwin: NRL on Nine, Ashes on 9GEM
Melbourne, Adelaide, Tasmania, Perth: NRL on 9GO!, Ashes on 9GEM

Most of the areas have 9Gem as 576i in SD. A few regions e.g. Mildura, regional SA, Griffith, Regional & Remote WA and remote Australia will have 9Gem in HD as 1080i.

Would be surprised if The Ashes isn’t scheduled for the main channel on Friday & Saturday nights (when/where possible). It would rate better than whatever movies they would otherwise air

I agree. A Nine/9Gem split of The Ashes & NRL coverage (eg: cricket on Nine with NRL on 9Gem in Melbourne and visa versa in Sydney) would probably do OK?

Is the Davis Cup finals included in summer of tennis? If not, then we will have to subscribe to Foxtel or Fetch to watch the Aussies play in the tournament via BeIN Sports.

Were one after the other on Mondays last year.

According to advance schedules, next Friday week (July 12), Australia v Northern Ireland will be shown live on 9Gem in NSW, ACT, QLD and NT, while AFL states will only get the match on 9Now with no coverage on 9GO! or main channel. At the same time, 9Gem in AFL states will be airing the NRL clash between Newcastle and Canterbury.
On Sunday July 14, the Cricket World Cup final should be shown live on main channel, while the netball match between the Diamonds and Sri Lanka should be on 9Gem.
With Nine showing the women’s Ashes test on July 18-21 and the schedule for second stage of Netball World Cup yet to be determined, there may be some clashes between netball and cricket, up until July 21, when both Netball World Cup final and the women’s Ashes test conclude.

Is that just an opinion or fact based on the guides?

It’s my prediction until the guides are updated this Sunday.

Anyone want to guess what the ratings will be for nine after tonight’s SOO game coming down to the last minute and the cricket being a classic on GEM? The southern states might be glued to the cricket while Northern ones breaking the edge of the seats?
