Yeah, I would have thought so.
Was just thinking about the play out centre having a brief period of broadcasting Nine programming into some markets and Ten programming into others and thought it seemed a bit odd.
I think I need to go to bed haha
Yeah big night Thursday get the popcorn ready And some strong coffee
They play out Seven Network programming to some markets too like Tasmania, Darwin and central Australia. Likewise WIN plays out Seven, Nine and Ten programming from Mediahub to its various markets across the country.
And the SCA changes from Ten to Nine only effect EST states anyway. They donāt operate in WA and any change to regional SA/Broken Hill is probably negligible as they rebroadcast 7, 9 and Ten to that region anyway. And as far as SCA is concerned nothing is changing in Tasmania, Darwin or central Australia.
Gee whiz, itās only midnight kids
Tongue in cheek mate, Iām a night owl,
I would watch with all of you, however there is no Southern Cross Ten in WA
As am I
I checked the guide for the NRL and it has Nineās written in front of the title now as well as the news. Little changes like that.
The great channel switch
While from July 1, Nine in the SCA regional areas will continue to meet the local content, additional local news is planned for the future.
It is understood this will include a new Townsville-based Channel Nine news bureau.
A Nine spokeswoman said further announcements would made soon.

NEWSNine and Prime agree to broadcast in Mildura as pressure grows in other markets
Thatās the third or fourth day in a row that a story relating to Nineās content ādisappearing from our screensā has featured in the Mercury. No doubt another one will make it into todayās edition. I wonder what the headline on the front pages will be if no deals are done in time?
Iām wondering why Nine and WIN/Prime were able to agree on terms for the Mildura station, but not TAS, SA or WA.
Perhaps due to Prime being involved rather than SCA?

Perhaps due to Prime being involved rather than SCA?[/quote]I bet thatās it. WIN are obviously taking it out on SCA because Nine ditched them in favour of them instead and are making things as difficult as possible for all involved now.
As if we didnāt know already, but WIN are just so pathetic. They brought this whole thing upon themselves and the idiots have no-one else to blame but.
Iām wondering whether the Mildura JV has seen a change in management with Prime now taking over - rather than Win running the show as previous?
Technically Prime is involved in regional WA as well as owner of GWN7 which is the JV partner with WIN.
Can anyone get me a ticket to their place so I can watch this event at midnight?
Metro television is so boring
Wow! Nine themselves setting up a news bureau in Townsville!?
Thatās brilliant news for my local area!
If Nine goes ahead and opens bureaux in regional centres like Townsville, Iām willing to bet theyāll be shut down within two years. At the very least theyāll be run on a shoestring with one video journalist responsible for covering a vast regional area.
Metro networks have experimented with having offices in places like western Sydney in the past and theyāve never lasted. Theyāll realise what little relevance they have and value they add to their core metro stations. Theyāll be shut down as a cost saving measure with the claim that it is the responsibility of the licence holder, Southern Cross, to fund news gathering in those areas.
Yes, didnāt Ten have Cairns, Townsville and Sunshine Coast bureaux back in the day? They were obviously shut down.
I am so happy to hear that. I remember Samanta Kums reading the 5:30 pm QTV local news from Townsville It ran for 30 minutes before the national nine news. I reckon that Bruce Paige and Joanne Desomd would be ideal newsreaders to read the news from Townsville.
Iām so happy exciting times ahead.
Print advertisement in todayās Shepparton News. Nothing exciting, but first Iāve seen published in the paper other than the odd article or two written about the affiliation switch.
Iām sure thereāll be plenty of this happening in households across regional Australia tomorrow night/Friday morningā¦
