Nine (Southern Cross)

So, it’s not possible for two licensees to have the same licence in the same area?

I will spell it out. The transfer from Southern Cross to WIN involved the transfer of station licence(s). Therefore, Southern Cross does not have the licence anymore.

If you knew the sausage factory mindset that exists in playout centres these days, you will understand why so many errors go through.

Getting in early for the loss of the Nine affiliation! Trying a WIN and taking away the dots.

Not sure if you guys are receiving this but…
Nine, Nine HD, 9Gem, 9Go!, 9Life, SBN, and Aspire in Bendigo don’t have any signal currently.

ABC, SBS, PRIME7, and WIN don’t have any problems.

Is this happening in Illawarra or any other Nine Southern Cross stations?

Oops!

The HD add-on from Today is on Nine HD.
Also, It’s on all the time, including ads.

Come on Southern Cross, just get rid of the HD add-on for good.

Yep, have had it on TDT for the whole of Celebrity Apprentice - ads and all.

Don’t worry, in a month’s time it won’t be a problem :joy:

This thread is so symbolic of the whole SCA 9 affiliation period - came along with such promise and out of the blue and there was much action and now at the end, the last post before this one was 30 days ago and it’s like the forgotten cousin of the move and is pretty much going out with a whimper.

So, with just over 24 hours left, farewell Nine (Southern Cross) thread. It’s been a fun ride, I look forward to not seeing much in here as the new Ten (Southern Cross) thread and maybe seeing a flurry of posts in 2 years time with the next big battle - I hope it’s big, I don’t know what to look forward to after this whole speculation and change dies down again by the weekend.

That’s what happens when you have no brand.

SCA are chasing 7 hard.

Admittedly, Southern Cross have a cost competitive advantage in having no news presence nor brand, so they can offer higher rates without cutting staff/resources (because there are near none) unlike Prime/WIN.

Southern Cross, being a younger seeking radio network, with no interest in news on tv, really suit Ten well though.

True. Likewise I don’t see a 7 Sydney or 7 Melbourne thread.

Like affiliate stations, network owned stations also have no brand

It’s one big national network now

In the five years Southern Cross was the nine affiliate they never had a relaunch.

Was just thinking that recently.

It has been great having Southern Cross Nine down in here in Southern NSW. To finally get Channel 9 in the regional area has been fantastic. I’m glad that the Nine branding will still be used with the transition back to WIN from tomorrow.
