True, they picked up Sharyn for the Brisbane bulletin. But Adelaideās unfortunately a much smaller market and Sharyn was also a drawcard for relaunching a separate Brisbane bulletin.

But if Kate loves television news as has stated further above, she might be willing to take less money to stay in Adelaide and work at Ten. The ABC might be another option too.

The difference between Adelaide and Brisbane is that Brisbane didnāt have a local bulletin when Sharyn was recruited (they had the news pumped in with Sandra in Sydney) whereas Kate Freebairn has already been presenting for Adelaide as a live and local bulletin since 2023.

It is only presented in Adelaide when Tiff reads and sport is presented

Thatās basically what I said in the first place 
I never said it was presented in Adelaide permanently. I said presented a live and local bulletin, which existed (albeit between Sydney and Adelaide depending on who was presenting) before Brisbane was reinstated.

Yes, while Kate Freebairn is on mat leave. AFAIK, she should be back early next year.

But honestly, Iāve always said news presenters should be based in the state theyāre reading for. If Kate doesnāt want to move back to Adelaide full-time, maybe itās time she hands over to someone else. Maybe that person could be Kate Collins?

Definitely in the longer term, quite possibly even in our lifetimes. Iāve seen some videos with some networks trying it out, itās pretty unreal what can be done at the early stages of AI right now, just imagine another few decades.
In Australia we are generally quite behind everyone else and will probably be last to implement anything like that, so anchors shouldnāt be worried about this stuff just yet.

Can people please stop guessing and assuming anyone not on air might be gone, Media Spy doesnāt have a great track record, look back at the SCA redundancies where a rumour that a presenter was gone when they werenāt and it spread. Wait until something more definitive and official is posted.
