Inga Neilsen is leaving Nine News Adelaide, bound for Sydney. Though I don’t think she’s explicitly stated whether she’ll still continue at Nine News, though.

Yet again another loss from 9 Adelaide, and they wonder why 7 Adelaide absolutely trounces 9.

You can’t stump peoples progress or desire to move interstate though, it’s a fine balance of retaining familiarity for viewers and supporting staff through opportunity and personal circumstances.
Would be different IMO if she was defecting to 7 Adelaide.

For the record, if they don’t end up interstate after sometime, generally the other path for Nine Adelaide reporters seems to be the ABC Adelaide newsroom.

It’s an attitude thing I think. At Nine, you do your time in Adelaide and you will get posted interstate. At Seven, it appears that there is a greater desire to stay in its number 1 Adelaide newsroom and, hence, the retention is better.

Though in the cases of Ben Avery and Edward Godfrey, they would get posted to Europe, therefore giving them a national profile.
In Perth, Michael Genovese received some national exposure through his short stint as US correspondent, but was barely seen nationally thereafter. Same goes for Tim Arvier, now QTQ’s state political editor.
