Nine News Now

No they were just using the name for what otherwise looked to be an early edition of Nine News

To be honest. This was a weak news program and didn’t look good on the Nine News brand. It was just a padded out bulletin filled with light entertainment and gossip stories

if I remember correctly, once in 2017 MAFS ranked #5 in its timeslot in Melbourne.

If bulletin under the Nine News Now brand aired in Perth during the tennis, then how come we didn’t see caps from it posted on this forum with the new graphics?

Agreed. Nine News Now will forever have a special place in Australian TV history…for creating the nickname “Jacket Lady” for Amber Sherlock thanks to that infamously leaked behind the scenes footage! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Ahh yes, those were the days…

Just like Ten’s Late News became famous for the banter between Sandra Sully and Brad McEwan!

Nine News Now is not scheduled for this week. Looks like Nine has quietly axed the show without notice, but let’s see what happens in the next few weeks.

Tipping Point is not rating. How much longer it has got depends upon how long Nine bought the rights for the UK version.

Or next week.

Seven’s afternoon news has been rating well, often featuring in the Top 20 at the end of the week

As it’s been said many times before, it looks like Nine are persisting with the show to see if it can pick up more viewers going forward.

Obviously The Chase (British version) has been around for more than six years and afternoon viewers who would’ve just finished watching The Daily Edition over on Seven would naturally stick around for The Chase, not knowing about TP which Nine has been airing since December.

Perhaps some more promotion during prime time might drive viewers to test out Tipping Point on Nine.

Does anyone really care if it’s axed?

Well, the people that work on the show, for a start…

I would’ve presumed that like the content of the bulletin (it wasn’t uncommon to see many of the packages replayed at 4pm, even after Sydney got a local edition) most people who worked on Nine News Now have other roles within the network.
